Re: 350c winch install

Another option, use a filter assembly off a 3325 winch? Jkequipment may have some used winch parts.

Re: 350c winch install

So, if I'm reading this correctly, this 3315 winch with spool valve is most likely off a straight 350 and the problem is getting it fitted to a 350C. The 350C would normally have a winch with the rotary valve. This fuel tank sump on the 350C currently will not fit the oil filter on the winch. Oh the...

Re: 350c winch install

Warrior. You are correct. I have the same two holes on the passenger side of my 3325. Those holes bolt a steel mount the holds the spool valve. Perhaps a different fuel tank is needed, as Jim has found several different numbers.

Re: 350c winch install

Ah ha. Review of the jdparts site shows all 350’s with winch as having the filter mount as you have. 450’s with the 3325 have the vertical mount. Further digging reveals that your filter mount is in the wrong location. If you look really close there are three bolt holes on the “passenger” side of th...

Re: 350c winch install

Definitely a 3315 with offset winch drive. And 350 brackets. Most filters I have seen have a bracket/mount where the filter spins on from under the winch. And the filter is vertical, not horizontal. I have seen a few pics of this horizontal style, but can’t attest to it’s application. More research ...

Re: JD450C - What engine do I have? Need to source filters

Your tractor is early enough, it may very well be a 4202. I encourage you to do more research. The straps that let the nose pivot forward are along the side of the nose and the bell pans that attach to the frame rails. Remove the 3 bolts from each side, remove the 4 under the nose, with the hood off...

Re: 350c winch install

Hello Sir, Something fishy here. A 3315 should mount without difficulty. Are you certain it is a 3315? As Jim stated, do you have the extra brackets to mount the winch to a 350? Could it be the filter is mounted in the wrong position, or with a non-original bracket. Never heard about relocating the ...

Re: JD450C - What engine do I have? Need to source filters

Do you need to remove the nose completely. If you remove all fasterners but the metal straps with bolts on both sides of both right and left frame rails. These straps act as a pivot point and lets the nose tips forward quite a few degrees, giving looks of room for most projects. Bruce

Re: JD450C - What engine do I have? Need to source filters

Hello Sir, Under the heading “crawler talk” there is FAQ section, about 4-5 threads done Stan has Serial Number ranges for 450 Straight - G series. Your 075xxx SN is in the 1968 range 65,000- 82,275. Your final drives have a triangle cover on them, toward the front of the tractor on the final drives...

Re: Reuse fiber/steel plates for a 450?

No, I wouldn’t re-use the disks. I understand you will only use the machine a bit then move it on. The time and effort to get these replaced is too significant for me to not replace them. Also when re-sold I can have a clear conscience saying the work was done and done right. Just my opinion, Bruce

Re: 555 exhaust manifold project

It is my experience the adapter (R43724 I believe) between the turbo exhaust and elbow is often worn out. This adds to noise and exhaust under the hood. You have come this far on this project, it might be worth replacing will you are in it. Best regards, Bruce

I have been following your project. Sounds/looks like a very nice improvement. Thank you for the update. Best regards, Bruce
