Re: Screenprinting shop gone

Hello Stan,

Sorry to hear about the fire. I'm super glad no one was hurt, those material items you mentioned can all be replaced. Bruce

Re: Blade control handle assembly

All ideas above are good. What about knerling the shafts. You could even use a center punch(many times) and use some red loc-tite on the shafts with reassembly.

When it was assembled was the split groove maxed out( unable to be tightened any more with the allen bolt)?

Re: Blades on mc's

There is nothing wrong with using the blade as intended: light use, piling logs, pushing loose material. As with all things, there are limits. I would avoid hitting/pushing hard stumps, rocks etc. basically anything that would spin the track and load the undercarraige. Take care, Bruce

Re: Introduction

Welcome to the board. Lots of good people here with a lot of knowledge. My Dad was a JD man through and through. I currently have 2- 450C track loaders and a couple of wheel tractors. Bruce

Re: Track Adjuster Seals

When applicable, i will drill the clevis holes out, oversized. Just enough to true up the sloop, yet leave enough meat in the clevis. Sometimes i will use metric drills with metric pins/bolts. Larger sized pins have a larger surface area and result in less psi, ie-wear. As i said only when circumsta...

Send a message to Lavoy(site administrator). He had some "350D" kits for sale. I think any way you go it is going to be $$$. Bruce

Re: JD MC Possible Steering Contamination

I'm not sure what seals need replaced. Simple hand tools are all that are needed. And in general once the fibers are contaminated they must be replaced. Good luck Bruce

I must say, that is very rare to see consecutive serial numbers. Especially with an unusual model. Good luck, Bruce

Re: What's this for?

My 450C has two grab hooks welded on my ROPS. One is exactly were your is and the other is on the right hand side upright pipe. Having 2 makes it easier to keep a longer chain/ cable out of the track off of the ground. Bruce

Re: What's this for?

Bend it back out a bit to hold chain or chokers. Probably added on.
