Re: 350 B Track

I have soaked frozen parts in a water bucket for 1-2 weeks, before they saw it my way. Pins and bushings can be replaced. Are the chain rails worth saving? Some cases make more sense to replace the whole chain, than to pay for track press time/labor. You could upgrade to a SALT chain with two piece ...

Re: 350 B Track

Your previous use of PB may inhibit the action of the water. Does PB have a water dispersant property?

How long is awhile? I suspect it will need to be longer. There is a lot of surface area involved.

Re: Can't get transmission oil pickup screen out.

I was able to open the pictures. I have not weighed in previously b/c I have very little knowledge in the triple nickel ream. Is it possible someone could have been inside the case and welded or tacked the pick up so it would not dislodge; therefore, preventing future external removal?? Best regards...

Re: How crazy an idea is...

Good morning, I like the idea quite a bit. I think for safety reasons it would be a good idea to put a edge or short guardrail on the edges to prevent the steel cleats from sliding sideways on the concrete and falling. I'm certain you have thought of this, but just wanted to add it. Best regards, Br...

Re: exhaust manifold replacement ideas

Hello Nick, That will be quite a rewarding project. I would say your bits are held together with expanded iron oxide. I would turn the bolts in “studs” by grinding the heads down flush. Use a torch to heat the cast pieces and tap/pull/ tap again until off. Walk way, return and repeat. Best regards, ...

Re: Scared newbie - should I just sell it? How much?

Welcome to the crawler forum. Disclaimer starts here. I believe in keeping the old equipment going. There are quite a few arguments in favor of mechanical machines over the computer counterparts. I would look over your equipment(or have an experienced person). If it has a massive failure or it is go...

Re: Hydraulic Oil and Trans Oil change

I believe the two systems are separate, also. The 1.5" hose/pipe you found should go all the way to the front of the engine, to the engine driven hydraulic pump. The drain for the hydraulic system is under the right box. Pipe thread plug under the box, above the track. Best regards, Bruce

Re: 1010c Ultimate Value?

Your estimate for the engine work seems high to me. Maybe a regional thing? Have you looked for a good replacement engine? Parting out your unit is an option, but that takes a significant effort and time. One piece sells this month, another piece sells in 4 months. 2 years down the road you have a c...

Re: 1010c Ultimate Value?

It is awful easy to spend more $$ than these crawlers are worth. I'm suspicious your crawler will not be close to a $12,000 value. Spending more $$ on it doesn't make since if it is an investment, flip project, show tractor etc... people with unlimited budgets may proceed with an upside down project...

Re: 40C vs 420C hyd pump

Groo- your explanation works in theory minus one real world factor. Load. We want our blades and buckets to hold dead still(at work and at the shows). If the leathers or the Orings are worn or cracked and let oil bypass, the blade/bucket/ cylinder will drift.
