Re: Looking for 450 tool tray pictures or measurements

oldmetalmender Thanks for your reply. I envy you for being able to do metal work. I'm pretty handy at mechanical stuff, but have never tried any metal work. I might give it a try one day.
' I would probably want the tool tray and straps. I think I can make the board myself.

Re: Looking for 450 tool tray pictures or measurements

oldmetalmender: Would you be interested in making more of the tool trays if you had the demand? Do you have a ballpark estimate what they would cost? I know I'd like to have one.

Re: 450C Dozer 1974 Alternator Troubleshooting

My 450 plain has a model # 7377N alt with a regulator mounted on the back side. You could google that # and see if it looks like yours and find a matching voltage regulator just for a cost comparison.

Permatex makes good sealer for when a gasket is not available. Any NAPA, Advance, ect. has it.

Re: 6405 Dozer

The reason I was asking is while in the process of changing hyd filters the catalog lists a long and short filter with a ser # break. Mine has the long one (9 1/2 in I think) but didn't have the spring nd spacer on the bolt. I just wondered if this is correct. The bolt tightend the filter up snug an...

Re: JD450C radiator availabilty

I have a 450 plain and I just had my radiator re-cored at a local rad shop for 885.00 including 7% sales tax. After about 2 weeks searching on internet the least I found a radiator for was 1500.00.

6405 Dozer

Does anyone know where the serial number plate is located on a 6405 dozer? Is there a serial number break down by year?

Re: JD 450C frozen track adjuster

Reread his post. He is stuck in the spring retainer. You may soak it with PB Blaster or another good penetrant for a few days. Then use some heat and a big hammer to get it loose. Otherwise cut the rod.
