I talked to 2 different service managers at 2 different shops and they do say to run it for 100 hrs before taking the break in oil out. Seems like most people disagree, not sure what to think.

Well the vent isn't clogged. That was the first sign that it might have blow by(the amount coming out the vent). Possible the rings were not installed right but if that is the case I'm out of luck as the engine was done a year ago an there is no warranty. Could be that everything is not tight or gas...

I saw that it is a separate part ($135.00) but I can't figure out how to remove it. Seems like like it is pressed in.

Is it possible to remove the tach gear from the end of the camshaft on one motor and install it in another?
Or is it pressed in and impossible to get out?
I have tried so I know it will not come out easy.

Thanks for the photo info. Hey I was wondering if anyone had a PDF version of head removal and installation. I'm sure I will need to order the full service manual but I'm going to want to get the head off asap to see where I am.

Thanks guys. It appears that the valve seized in the guide. It,s still sticking out and I can't move it. So there is a chance it did not hit the piston (fingers crossed) but I won't know until I pull the head. I'm not going to worry about the injector pump until I figure out the rest but do you thin...
