More on the Agricat

I'm going to start this out by saying that these pictures are even worse than the last ones. Poor light and shooting with my phone just really doesn't work that well. Here is the highly modified Agricat after Tim (the owner) installed the drive flange I made him and got it going. http://i161.photobu...

It looks like I should be able to get all the brass cleaned out without getting into the threads so I'm hoping not to lose any of them. On the other hand, even if I lost one or two threads it wouldn't really be a problem given the function. I'd just need to make sure the other side is at least two t...

1010CA Bebuild Project, Part XVI

Been a while since I've posted as I've been pulled in a lot of different directions in the last couple of months and haven't had much crawler time. In this first picture you can see it's in the process of going back together with most of the front end reassembled. Sorry about the somewhat fuzzy pict...

Brooks,

If you put "undercarriage" and "interchange" into the board search page and ask to return on both terms, you'll get about five or so posts on this topic. Here's the best I saw.

If you don't mind switching out the rollers for the new style, you can find rollers about anywhere. Lavoy can help you. Original style rollers are a problem but if the machine is an everyday worker and not a collector's piece, I'd really go with the 350 rollers and bush them to get the right size fo...

Great job on the crawler Ray! Nothing to be ashamed of there. Really nice work.

The views in the background have a familiar look. Are are up around Gaylord area?

I would have but they apparently came from the Deere plant with the Ford emblems. The 437 was an unusual Deere crawler to be sure. You know me, nothing but a perfect restoration.

Lavoy, I'm glad to hear you feel that way because I've just been dying to post pictures of my secret project; the completely factory restored Deere 437 crawler. This thing is completely factory original and is as Deere as a crawler can be. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t203/wwattson/4000crawler...

Cool stuff Ray. If you send me the picture, I will post it for you. My email is wwattson@wi.rr.com. I'm just finishing up one of the pieces I'm making and was going to post a picture of it as well.

I'd stay with the button head fittings myself. Go to McMaster-Carr and the 5/8" button head fittings are on page 2135.

Terry, I would think a 235 should be pretty common. There are 4 or 5 of them listed on eBay right now and it was a pretty common engine to 1950s era Chevys like the Belair. I found a few rebuilders that had short and long blocks as well if you're not into the whole engine rebuilding thing like some ...

Hi Terry,

I didn't have any luck with a reference to a Chevy 245 straight-6. Do you know the military designation of your truck? I can run one down for you if I know the military model.
