I've got printed off versions of the parts manual from my local JD dealer and would be glad to scan and e-mail them to you. Just PM me your e-mail and I'll get it done on Monday. They are hard to read hence I'll put them in PDF so there is little distortion. They are readable though and have really ...

Magoo- I don't know if any of the crawlers used 24V but know that there have been some posts on http://www.johnnypopper.com/forums/ . You may try searching that message board or posting on there.. I know John T and some of them over there are real good on electrical problems and have a bunch of expe...

Quick hey to all as I've been M.I.A. for awhile. I should comment on the seat as it's on my crawler. The piece that mounts on the transmission is used JD original as well as the seat frame. The slide that mounts the two together is new from Lavoy. Let me just say rebuilding the used to turn out as t...

Ahh.. now you know that everything else is correct you don't have to worry about it in the future. I have found with crawlers that any stone left unturned is a stone you'll be turning over next time you attempt to use your crawler until you've turned them all over. (Lots of experience with that one)...

420c - main jet
Looking for a 43-699 jet assembly and JD tells me ~$ 85.00 for one. In a bind but hate to pay too much if one is available after market. Anyone know if it is available else where for less?

I don't think I'd try it. I know that the gasket will form to the particular surfaces. Any time you disturb it I would think that's way too much possibility of a leak. I know that a head gasket wouldn't be where I'd try to cut corners personally. I am curious if anyone has tried and what kind of res...

On my 420 I've taken some 220 on a DA sander and cleaned up the steel .. just keep moving to keep from gouging it. I did one side w/o replacing the fiber.. and lets just say... I'm ready to pull the final back off and do it right. The second go round it was all new springs, etc in the steering clutc...

Looks good. Doesn't it always make you wonder when you find something that someone has obviously tried to fix and you find out that to fix it correctly wasn't that big a job??? I'm sure you'll be much happier with the operation of the machine now. I just tell myself that 20 years ago people didn't h...

How much is a little work?? You can either fix just the steering brake right now and run the under carriage to destruction and deal with it then or you can fix it now and never worry about it. The lil 420c that I'm playing with needs some under carriage work but will probably only see an honest 35-4...
