Thanks for the replies guys. I have decided to pass on the 1/2 chain and will look for 9/16.
Another question: If I replace my track pads with new ones, but only do one side of the dozer, will this screw up my operation of the dozer. Will it continuously pull to one side?

1/2” chain & 9/16” pads
I was able to find a 1/2” chain for my 450d, but it looks like my current pads are 9/16. Any chance I can run the 9/16” pads if the bolts are good and tight?

Winch 3305 for 450D
Hi guys, There is a 3305 winch for sale locally. It looks like the previous owner has thrown together a set of logging rollers for skidding into it. My question is I have a 450D with pto, would this fit on without major surgery? It looks like the previous owner has some sort of lever rigged up to en...

Re: 2006 undercarriage to 1984
The seller sent me a few pictures. I didn’t get a chance yet to measure my tracks, but maybe others will recognize.

Re: Hydraulic filter
Hey guys, I’m going through changing some of the filters and noticed one in front of radiator. I believe that is for the transmission. Looks to be the same number# filter as the engine oil. To change the filter in front of the radiator do I need to bleed anything after, or do I just spin it off and ...

Re: Jd 350 recommended oils
Hey guys, was looking for the grease zerks on the top roller and don’t think I have one. Do all 450’s have them? Mine is a 450D. Likewise, didn’t see one on the front idler either.

Hey guys, while we are on the topic, does anyone have a list of all the grease zerks on the 350 and 450 dozers?
Much appreciated

Re: Hydraulic filter
Thanks Amos!
The hydraulic filter lies horizontal next to the seat. Any tricks to taking if off without making a mess?

Hydraulic filter
Hey guys, would like to change the hydraulic filter on my 450D crawler. Is it simply screw the old one off and screw new one on? Or do I need to bleed pressure after?
I’m attempting to go through most of the dozer, changing fuel filter as well.
Cheers!

Re: Track adjustment on 450D
Jsal that sounds like an option. Can you be more specific. Just trying to visualize it here. The old adjuster cannot compress due to washers being welded onto the piston. Do you mean to compress the new adjuster?

Re: Track adjustment on 450D
I should also add that I picked up the adjuster assembly for $500. I hate fixing previous owners mistakes.

Re: Track adjustment on 450D
Thanks for the replies guys! I should be able to get a chain around the front idler and pull it forward with the blade. If the new adjuster is compressed right down, you think it will slip in?
