Re: 350 reverser

I know the feeling, now that I sort of have the reverser working, my next project is an in frame overhaul of the engine (used 4 qts oil in 3 hours) then look at the blade for more cracked welds, replace the tilt cylinder, replace packings on track adjusters, etc. Then its off to my old Ford 445 fron...

Re: 350B parts

I found out my 66 350 strait has a combination of steel rings and soft rubber "washers" as Deere called them in my reverser piston assemblies.

Re: 350 reverser

CuttingEdge Are you talking about the pressure control springs under the reverser case or the control valve assembly bolted to the side of the case? For the center 120 LB control spring with the shims on the bottom of the valve assembly I use a 4 ft bar across the spring cover on the track to get th...

Re: 350B parts

Have you tried E-Bay? Every once in a while strange parts come up for the 350's.

Re: 350 reverser

Looked at trying to look at the reverser control valve with the reverser in, no way in heck. Decided to just take the whole reverser out, and found a round pin about 1.5 in long and .25 across under the clutch spring, no idea where it came from, nothing missing and all parts accounted for it was wei...

Re: 1966 350 reverser

Just went through mine, and not to annoy Lavoy, but all the seals were available through my local JD farm dealership and they where cheaper than the local JD heavy equipment dealership with the exception of one gasket.

Re: 350 reverser

If your 350b is like my 350 strait, my book says to check the 120 lb first, then if its good go the the 25 lb then the 80 lb. The 120 port is located above the forward/reverse valve. On mine its the second one back, the first one is the 25, My book says that you need to have good pressure at the 120...

Re: 450c track

If you have the grease fitting on the yoke that attaches to the idler wheel like my 350 to tighten the track, I loosen up the fitting and find a way to push the wheel towards the back as far as possible, the get out the pry bars and jacks, try to lift the side up enough to pry the track back on. I'v...

Re: 450 hyd hose

Try Craigslist Hew Hampshire type John Deere 350 in the search box, should pull up a guy named Mark that has a bunch of old 350 and I think 450 parts, or hang on a sec I'll pull up his phone number. 802 279-1888 I talked to him Friday about some 350 reverser parts.

Re: 350 engine runs after turning off key

The gremlins came and the gremlins went. I unbolted the wire for the relay to check for stray voltage and reconnected it problem went away. It runs fine now, however my reverser pressures are low and I have a bad feeling the pump may have suffered some wear from the sheared shaft in the reverser. I'...

By chance did BK Diesel tell you what was wrong or different when they rebuilt your pump? Just wondering what they did that you missed.

350 engine runs after turning off key

My 350 strait was apart to repair the reverser (earlier post) and now I have it back together again. Started the engine to check for leaks and found the fuel filters dripping so I went to shut it down and the engine keeps running after turning off the key. The engine RPM drops a little but it ran fo...

Re: 350 strait reverser ??

Found the problem, seems the bearing on the front of the shaft that has the clutches and pistons either locked up first or the shaft sheared first and then the roller bearing seized in the back of the spider shaft. Either way it is not going to be a cheep fix, the shaft is obsolete, I found one onli...
