JD440 transmission wanted
Bought a JD440C in pieces, started on the transmission, but on close inspection, the gears have worn through the hard surface, so looking for a complete unit, would like a 5 speed, but 4 speed is fine, thanks for any leads.

thanks for the advice Gil, am finding you are right about used rails in good shape, have had one dealer price of $450 for rails that are just about as bad shape as mine including old corroded and cracked welding. you don't mention it but i assume replacment of the wear surface requires special steel...

The mechanic I hired to fix the final drive on my 1010C just whacked off the rail where the sprocket covers are mounted with a cutting torch then welded it back on afterwards.
