Starter replacement
my new starter came in today, checked B+ from battery to starter, looks like someone used cable that came on cheap $5.00 jumper cables. So I am replacing with welding lead, soldering both ends on and with heat shrink on both. HHmmm even put cheap cable in about 3 feet of garden hose. You can see whe...

Follow up on 1010 starter
follow up!!! I did some price checking for parts to rebuild my starter.I was shocked as prices has increased dramatically since the last starter I rebuilt. This solenoid cannot even be rebuilt, a lot lighter inside than Chevy solenoid which can be rebuilt. I will need new solenoid, brushes, Bendix, ...

Starter removele 1010 diesel
I had to remove starter from my loader JD 1010, what a pain. Upper nut was easy to remove, BUT the bottom one took me all day and differ ant end wrenches. I ended up buying special 11/16 end wrench. With the special end wrench finally got the lower nut off. Then it was a fight to get starter back an...

Re: New (to me) BO Lindeman
There are no new track pads available. Lavoy There are new pads available from the museum at Union Gap , WA, the press that made the original pads is still function able, every so often they press out new pads. Couple years ago I was at the tractor show there and they were running to press.. Quite i...

There is an individual trying to get register on this forum that needs some info, and will probably need the gage to set fingers on the 1010 pressure plate. I think he is probably using handle drott t340.

Re: up date 1010 injector pump
Why reface when there is no wear on either valve face or seat. I have a BIL that worked in a head rebuild shop for 20 years, and he looked at my valves and told me just to lap them in. So I followed advice of the individual in the know!!! About the same advice I relieved from machinist that surfaced...

Re: up date 1010 injector pump
They had to remove .0065 to clean my head up. I checked with straight edge on the head to make sure the valves had enough clearance , everyone checked out good. I'm lapping the valves in with fine compound, after which I will use Prussian Blue to make sure there is not high or low spots on valves or...

Re: up date 1010 injector pump
Got the head surfaced today, only took this machine shop 45 minutes to surface it. And cost me $ 95.00 which I thought was a really fair price. A supper nice job!!!

up date 1010 injector pump
I was going to pull injector pump off my 1010 diesel, so I pulled #1 glow plug to get engine up on # 1 compression before I pulled pump.. But I was getting two compression strokes on # 1. I decided I better run a compression test on all cylinders, I had to make an adapter for the glow plug for my co...

1010 injector pump.
My injector pump failed, kept trying to bleed it, was getting NO pressure at the injectors. I talked to an injector pump man this morning, first thing he asked me "how long has it been sitting" I told him about 2 or 3 years. Informed me parts were frozen or gummed up and probably needed rebuilt. So ...

850 watt tank heater
I'm sure not impressed with this 850 W tank heater, I've had it plugged in all night and block is not that warm and it never got below 38 degrees here. I guess it would be alright if ya just wanted to keep the engine from freezing. I keep anti freeze in all my rigs, anti freeze is cheap compared to ...

Re: install tank heater
This picture is larger and easier to view. Maybe I'll figure out how to post pictures on this forum, and what size are the best.
I used the heater hose off a 1995 Chev diesel.
