Re: 1010 will not fire
Some questions to get the basis of where you are at today. Have you gotten it to start yet or are just getting a chance to work on it again? If you are just getting back to it, have you established that you have found TDC of # 1 cylinder on the compression stroke? Do you have the hood off so you can...

Re: Key ignition question
By the schematic the wire from the fuse hooks to the Battery terminal of the key switch. The wire from the second terminal of the key switch (# 11) connects to the Battery terminal of the combination switch. By the schematic drawing one might call it the middle terminal of the combination switch. I ...

Re: Key ignition question
I was going to dig my manual out find, scan, and post the wiring schematic for you, but I believe you already have the schematic you need to wire the key switch. In your post "Switch Wiring" you say you have the manual and are looking at the picture of the backside of the switch (ignition with light...

Re: 450C intermittent start issues then nothing
Check your service manual wiring schematic, I think it has to go through a neutral safety switch on the transmission linkage. Try wiggling the HLR lever. That may also mean you should tighten up and adjust the transmission linkages by the book. Check that the safety flip gate will work when in neutr...

Re: Possible water pump issue, JD450
I rebuilt mine. If you have a press and go easy, measure the fan hub location before you start so you can put it back to the same distance, and you should be fine if you want to do that. Check with Lavoy to see if his kit has the tool to install the seal. I think most kits come with a plastic/nylon ...

Re: 3325 WINCH input shaft seal replacement issue
So, it turns out you have a wrong seal you were measuring while trying to decide if it would fit through the bearing cup. Things like seals fit in different places so it is not totally unknown to receive one labelled for something else from an aftermarket source. And sometimes things are just plain ...

Looks like a 1960 crawler by the list on the FAQ Board.

Re: Possible water pump issue, JD450
Taking the nose of is up to you. I did my water pump, pulled the pump drive, changed hoses, and changed the belt on my 450E without pulling the nose or radiator. If you pull the nose it would be the time to have a radiator shop clean and check the radiator if it has been running warm at all.

Re: 1010 will not fire
The crawler service manual is SM2034. I don't have a copy of it for you, I expect you could get a copy from Lavoy so you have the actual Crawler service manual for future reference. This link will get you to an on line copy of SM2033 for the 1010 wheel tractors, a lot of it will apply, but doesn't c...

Re: 1010 will not fire
You say you changed the distributor. It maybe out of position now. Check the basic timing. Bring #1 cylinder up to TDC on compression and see how the rotor and points positions compare to that.
Where and how are you checking for spark?

Re: Possible water pump issue, JD450
Ideally no play should be seen, 1/4" means it needs to be fixed now. Waiting until it leaks is a good way to add radiator repair and fan replacement to the water pump repair project. Its not fun but you can get it without taking the nose and radiator off. Unbolt the fan and remove it before pulling ...

The 3310 was the manual winch on 350s. Both the 3310 and 3315 show up in the online 350 parts catalog.

Re: 3325 WINCH input shaft seal replacement issue
John Deere says AT14831 is for a 1.375" shaft, .500" thick, 2.254" OD, single lip, nitrile, garter spring. How does that compare with what you got?

Re: 3325 WINCH input shaft seal replacement issue
I see you mentioned this in Kyjimmy's winch post and since no one has jumped in on this one of yours; I'll throw a few thoughts out. I don't see any procedure to change just the seal in my 450E manual (uses the 3325 winch). The manual has the seal being installed first during reassembly. I can't see...
