Re: 350C ENGINE OIL PAN DRAIN PLUG STRIPPED

You can try running a tap in it to try cleaning up the threads and put a new plug with seal washer in. JD Specs say the 350c plug is 7/8" - 20 TPI. You might try tapping it over size. Some Cummins and likely other engines, maybe some JDs, used a 1" -18 TPI plug. Lavoy may know of another good repair...

Re: Help! 450E or 550?

Welcome to the board. Hopefully someone will be along with more info for. I have a 450E and it has been a good unit so far. I have had it a little over 3 years using it around the farm when needed, not steady, heavy use. From looking at the 550 specs it is advertised as having a couple more horsepow...

Re: 350B hydraulic/transmission oil

You want to use an oil that meets or exceeds the current John Deere spec for Hy-Gard which is JDM J20C. TSC has Traveler Premium Universal Tractor Trans/Hydraulic Fluid (the black bucket) that they advertise as meeting the spec. Walmart , Napa, and others may well have a fluid you could use, Read/Ch...

Re: Oil cooler leaking.... Again

I would stay with the type it was designed with. I my thoughts adding one in front of the radiator, when it is clean, increases the obstruction to air passing through the coolant radiator and makes a place debris can get caught blocking air flow and causing overheating of engine and transmission whe...

Re: 350b hydraulic control valve

Look at the parts catalog, then it maybe worth a phone call to Lavoy. He often has sources for parts that help guys out. His business phone number is on the homepage. You might consider adding your general location to your profile. Sometimes it is helpful to know about where someone is when suggesti...

Re: 350b hydraulic control valve

Are the Manuals you have all for a 350B? Publisher and manual number? It sounds like your 350B has a full hydraulic 6 way blade, which should be an inside mount. If so that would be a model 6305 blade. It has a separate parts manual from the tractor. Starting with the 350Cs they included the blades ...

Re: 455G Boom Cylinders Hammering Noise

How are the linkage pins and bushings? A bad one could be binding and popping as it moves. Grease well, cycle a few times and grease again, worth the cost of the grease to try.

Oops! Think you meant 0.014" of play. 0.0014 would be 0.0016 too tight. Stay safe

Re: 450-C Injection pump and timing questions

Like B Town posted inspect closely, check tank venting, etc. Diagnose fully before pulling the pump. Check closely when you remove the window for the mouse turds. Inspect the check valve to see if it has mouse turds in it. They do sometimes fail, as gregjo1948 posted, without being plugged. It shoul...

Re: trailer connector problem

If using a test light there should be no light if you ground the test light lead to bare metal on the trailer hitch frame and touch the probe to the socket blade. A voltmeter should show no voltage between the blade (+ lead) and frame (- lead). If no voltage shows a check with an ohmmeter should ide...

Re: trailer connector problem

If that is looking into the truck socket from behind the truck, I would try plugging it in and try the lights. if what you have hooked up works right the brakes should also when connected. And yes the center on the blade type connectors are pins.

Re: trailer connector problem

I am understanding you are behind the truck, looking into the socket, not the backside where the wires connect to it. Tail and running lights on the 11 o'clock blade is good. They don't separate them like semis do on 7 round pin plugs. Left and right turn signals (with brake lights like the truck li...
