Re: 455G Boom Cylinders Hammering Noise
How are the linkage pins and bushings? A bad one could be binding and popping as it moves. Grease well, cycle a few times and grease again, worth the cost of the grease to try.

Oops! Think you meant 0.014" of play. 0.0014 would be 0.0016 too tight. Stay safe

Re: 450-C Injection pump and timing questions
Like B Town posted inspect closely, check tank venting, etc. Diagnose fully before pulling the pump. Check closely when you remove the window for the mouse turds. Inspect the check valve to see if it has mouse turds in it. They do sometimes fail, as gregjo1948 posted, without being plugged. It shoul...

Re: trailer connector problem
If using a test light there should be no light if you ground the test light lead to bare metal on the trailer hitch frame and touch the probe to the socket blade. A voltmeter should show no voltage between the blade (+ lead) and frame (- lead). If no voltage shows a check with an ohmmeter should ide...

Re: trailer connector problem
If that is looking into the truck socket from behind the truck, I would try plugging it in and try the lights. if what you have hooked up works right the brakes should also when connected. And yes the center on the blade type connectors are pins.

Re: trailer connector problem
I am understanding you are behind the truck, looking into the socket, not the backside where the wires connect to it. Tail and running lights on the 11 o'clock blade is good. They don't separate them like semis do on 7 round pin plugs. Left and right turn signals (with brake lights like the truck li...

Re: Digging deaper into my Gearmatic 8a winch - includes pictures
Ray III, Just a bit of info for reference. Your bolt guy is a bit off base. Maybe all he stocks are the same, but they are available in various grades, finishes, and materials. A307/Grade 2 (common grade in hardware and building supply stores), Grade 5, and Grade 8. You can see some choices in the M...

Re: trailer connector problem
Are you using the 7 way blade type connectors? That is the one I expect to see on that type trailer. I would print off the picture of the 7 way TRADITIONAL Vehicle and Trailer connectors, from the link shinnery posted, to use as a guide. The positions of the functions are the same for the RV wiring ...

Re: trailer connector problem
I found the wires for a brake controller were not all in the harness of a 2002 Silverado when I put a controller in it. I don't know about your 2015. Does it have a trailing package? Many of those could add brake controllers using plug in adapters to the factory harness. I am guessing you are adding...

Re: 450B problem
Some say adding a hole is bad, will make an engine run cold. I have not seen a problem with any I drilled holes in. They cleared of air when filled and I have not seen that they run any cooler. That's been the results I've had, your results may vary.

Re: 450B problem
Sounds like the level is about what I would expect to see. For a petcock to bleed air from the system it would really need to be at the high point, like the top of the head. On the left side of the engine, I expect you are looking at the drain (low point) for the cooling jacket of the engine, simila...

Re: 450B problem
I would expect it might push out more than 1/2 gallon if you filled it to the top. look at it cold and see where the level is now. My 450E will be 1 to 1-1/2' down when checked cold. Is the radiator cap the right length for the radiator neck? What pressure rating?
