Re: 450e cab

Please define cab, it can mean different things to different people. Are you talking a fully enclosed hard panel/windows EROPS cab, or a ROPS with screens as you were indicating interest in, in a previous post? The 450E is a flat deck operator's platform, the 450C is not. I may be wrong, but I have ...

Re: Seeking advice on replacing high pressure hydraulic line in a 450B

They use "Rotella" in many oil/fluid names. He is correct Shell Rotella HD Tractor Fluid meets J20C, I am assuming he is using the Tractor Fluid. When I searched Shell Rotella HD, the Tractor Fluid came up, not engine oil. https://shell-livedocs.com/data/published/en-US/7075ff70-f224-40e3-981d-ff35a...

Re: Seeking advice on replacing high pressure hydraulic line in a 450B

Just checking on what you are using for transmission and hydraulic oil. I think your 450B manual says to use 303 and that spec is way out of date. You need to use JD Hy-Gard or other UTHF meeting John Deere's J20C spec. If you don't know the history, John Deere doesn't make 303 any more as it used s...

Re: jd300 backhoe diesel

If it's running now I wouldn't worry about the injection pump much. If it has been setting a long time there is the risk of parts in the IP being stuck which would require a rebuild. Remember you will hear about the few having problems, not the hundreds or thousands running with no problems.

Re: jd300 backhoe diesel

Hi dtoots1, A straight 300 would be in the 1965-1973 range. The 3 cylinder 152 diesel was used in the straight 350s and other tractors/equipment. Parts for the engine should be available along with most drive train parts. I believe that vintage tractor shared a number of the Ag tractor parts, so the...

Re: 450C Right Brake not working

Thank you for confirming your serial number, which says it is a 1975 C series with a 6405 blade and you have the right manual. I usually ask serial numbers, as over the years many 450s have been mistakenly decaled as 450Cs and sold as such. Many folks only find out they don't have a C series when th...

Re: Seeking advice on replacing high pressure hydraulic line in a 450B

As Labparamour mentioned. If you use hose on your pump suction line be sure you get/use a hose rated for oil service or you will be back there fixing it again sooner, rather than later. I think you are actually looking at the suction line going to the pump, the return is between the control valve an...

Re: 450C Right Brake not working

Welcome to the board. First question to me always for a "450C" is: What is the complete serial number to confirm it is truly a C series? There were 450 Cs and then there were 450Cs. Been down the road of trying to diagnose things only to find out it was the wrong C. 450 Cs and most 450Bs had dry clu...

Re: Seeking advice on replacing high pressure hydraulic line in a 450B

If your blade is hydraulic lift with manual tilt and angle, it is a 6410 blade. The 6410 blade hydraulic lines, valves, and other components related to the blade are in parts catalog PC920. They did not start including the blades in the crawler catalog until the 450C model. If you don't have a copy ...

Re: Seeking advice on replacing high pressure hydraulic line in a 450B

Welcome to the Board. Did you purchase a pdf copy of John Deere TM1033 or something else? It has the typical hydraulic system info. The copy of that technical manual I have shows circuits and has a good bit of info on the system and components for loaders and dozers. If you are looking for the manua...

Re: 2-53 swap into a gas 440 worth it?

If all the parts for the 440ICD are there why not rebuild it? Is the reverser still with it? That goes between the engine and transmission. You would still have your 440IC running to use while you do that. As noted the ICD used a heavier drive train, so to do it right, and expect it to last, you wou...

Re: little help please

Welcome to the Board. Yes, the Web Links Board was the wrong place to post this. It will likely be moved to the Late Models Board when a moderator sees it. I don't know of a separate manual for the 3325 winch. The winch info, for the model winch the factory used on a machine, is usually included in ...

Re: my crawler wont move

You say you have the engine free. Does that mean you have it so it turns over or does it mean it is running and are trying to turn the rest of the drive line under power. Just looking to clarify what you call free. I agree with Stan it sounds like you might just as well get going on pulling it apart...

Re: Jd 350 boom cylinder disassembly

I can't see your cylinder but it sounds like you have the type where the gland nut holds the gland (I think you may find this part called the rod guide in some manuals) out against that snap ring to remove any play and to keep the gland from moving into the barrel during operation. That internal sna...
