Re: JD350 loader/crawler with 3315 winch

Welcome to the Boards. You posted the PTO control handle is moving and it feels like it is moving something inside. Confirm the handle is moving the shaft going into the transmission. Also, that the PTO shaft is not rotating (confirm it is the shaft out of the tractor that is not turning, not just t...

Re: Idler grease zerk ball bearing 450E

The 450G adjusters used a check valve with a zerk in one hole, instead of the zerk and set screw ball set up having two holes, side by side. Some of the 450G adjusters also had hinged covers over the zerk check valve. The zerk/check valve would be between ears that had holes for the cover hinge pin....

Re: Idler grease zerk ball bearing 450E

Welcome to the Boards. The ball should go in under the square head set screw located beside the zerk where grease is pump in to extend the adjuster, IF that is the one you have. looking at the parts catalog it appears two different ones were used. One uses the ball and set screw the other uses a che...

Re: What is equivalent to a T12592 shim.

I was just looking at the drawing in the online parts catalog and guessing size relationship.

I bet at least part of the reason was JD figured out they were giving away money having the specs online so people could substitute things.

Re: What is equivalent to a T12592 shim.

A few years ago, JD online parts catalogs had info on some parts like hardware, shims, some seals and O-rings. They did an upgrade, and that type of info was taken away from the general public catalogs. I think a dealer might have access to some info as the parts guys at the dealer I use have been a...

Re: Final drive gear/bearing keeper

Welcome to the Boards. I suggest you give Lavoy a call. He provides this site for our use. his business sells and repairs crawlers like your 440IC, if fact I think he has one in his shop now from things on his Facebook page. His phone number is 701-361-1006 during Central time zone business hours. H...

Re: What is equivalent to a T12592 shim.

They appear to be for alignment of the moving parts so I would think stacks of washers would work, might take a bit of fiddling to get it where you want it.

Re: 450 dozer transmission oil pump dowel pin T20902

A search using the part number on the JD parts site shows that is the only place that dowel pin was used. Finding a salvage yard with a transmission parted out is likely about your best chance. Send Lavoy an email or give him a call he might have a suggestion of someone to check with. What is your g...

Re: A new to me 450G or not?

Welcome to the Boards.

I hadn't seen that before. The TO should mean it was built in Dubuque. DX75M brings it up as a Hitachi model in a web search. Those apparently used the 4045 engines like the 450G. The actual 6 digit serial number may relate to the Hitachi run of units. Good luck.

Re: 350C steering issues.

First thing I am going to ask is, are you certain it is a C model, confirmed by the serial number? We need to be sure as the C had wet steering clutches and brakes, the straight 350s and the Bs had dry steering systems. Is this a dozer or loader? In first gear forward, if you push against something ...

Re: 350 blade arms packed solid with mud/debris

Welcome to the boards.

A combination of poking with steel rods, a lot of water from a hose, and using a pressure washer are about the best I can think of. Good luck.

Re: John Deere 450c dozer transmission issues

Welcome to the Boards. You may have some seals starting to fail. Cold oil can hide some leakage. As the oil and components warm leakage will increase. The other thing is a pump that is worn generally drops off as it warms. If you leave the gauge in place does the oil pressure change as it warms up?
