440 diesel for sale, it has been completely rebuild from the ground up all that is left is the hydraulics. Moved to South Dakota and crawler is in central Minnesota.. Will post pictures as soon as i get back and take some. it comes with 2 blades and some spare parts from the donar crawler. $4000 obo...

its a manual blade side to side, i forgot the number of the blade but i think they call it a 602, it attaches to the outside of the tracks. i have a spare 2-53, a spare blade, and a bunch of other misc. stuff from a parts crawler..

1959 440 john deere 2-53 detroit.. absolutely everything gone through top to bottom.. the only thing left to finish it is the hydraulics, pump, valve, lines, and paint.. $4900

I get all my parts for detroits through interstate diesel out of virginia MN. You also can ask them some questions about your water problem. I think if your head gasket was bad you would have some white smoke or something.. if your oil is milky you may have a o-ring out on your liner.

shouldn't need an injector puller, the injector should just pull out after the retaner is removed. you do need a tool to set the injector hight or in other words how far the injector is pushed down by the rocker arm, if injector is pushed down to far it will wreck the barrel inside the injector. 2cy...

The oil pump on the 53 series are on the front of the engine so make sure the back lash is good on the gears, and pre oil with heavier oil so on start up it's not dry and will make sure you get oil pressure faster. also make sure that your gears on the front and ...

A 2-53 doens't take a solenoid and neither does most of the other detroits, the injecter is made to shut the fuel off when closed.. When the injector gets worn they don't shut all the way anymore. that could be the problem.
