Re: 450c won't turn off
Turns out it was a 24 volt alternator. Re replaced with the Motorola. All good for now. Yes plug and play like 24volt alternator I got the first time. Lol. I think I will also need to change regulator someway somehow in the near future.

Re: 450c won't turn off
Thanks for your guidance Jim. By eliminating the regulator is it disconnected or does it simply mean that it takes over? On your second paragraph about solenoid, is this the fuel solenoid?. So I have three wires coming into the alternator. A green spade terminal which is 12v when ignition is on not ...

Re: 450c won't turn off
Thanks for your info Jim. I'm only working on the 450c when I come to the ranch. I think I got the wrong alternator for this conversion. I am going to get a 10sI delco from napa tomorrow. Someone on here had a schematic for the wiring. I'm assuming the existing voltage regulator can still be used?an...

Re: 450c won't turn off
The B+ D+ tach and ground wires are original wires from the old alternator. They are hooked up accordingly on the new alternator. This is what I don't understand other than being a bad ignition switch? I have one coming. My excite wire D+ does not have current with ignition off..

Re: 450c won't turn off
The alternator is a 3 wire. I pulled the wire off the pump and the engine shut off. So now I know that the solenoid is still good. Interesting that the excitor wire would affect it. This morning I will disconnect the excitor wire and see if it shuts down with it disconnected. If does, would I be for...

Re: Track adjuster
Thanks for the in put. I replaced seals on the adjuster pistons no problem. However, my left side piston pipe was broken/ sheared right at the spring plate. Installed that with vertical press. I welded a sleeve inside the pipe to extend back in to the pipe that was sheared off. About 1 1/2" of sleev...

450c or d?
What is A major difference between a 450c and d? No serial numbers any where other than the engine. The oriGinal under carriage I assume is at 50% based on my owners manual. Have had the dozer now for 3 years. Replaced rebuilt a final drive three years ago after I bought it. And last year I rebuilt ...
