Re: Advice on 450c complete rebuild
I am looking at overhaul kits and I need to know if its standard compression or high compression. how do you know this? is a turbo charged high and a non turbo charged standard? any help with figuring this out would be appreciated. Thanks for all the advice so far.

Jim and bruce, thanks for the advice. I agree having the dozer is invaluable so I guess that answers my question.

So the mechanic removed the block and pulled the pistons. The sleeves were all ate up and pitted on one of the pistons. He then inspected the inside of the block and it had wear and pitting on the inside of the block on one of the cylinder walls. Yes,the coolant was leaking from sleeves/internally. ...

Re: 450 c Fuel problem
Thanks Bruce. No i'm not sure its positive pressure. all I hear is air it is probably negative then. So does the vent tube come out after the screen is removed or is it apart of the screen? also, if you take the screen out could it be possible not to get it back in correctly? Also, i'm not able to d...

450 c Fuel problem
Hey all. I have a 450 C. some days it starts just fine and some times it won't start and just crank and crank and crank. when It won't start I bleed the fuel line at the injector. I loosen the nut and crank it until fuel starts spewing out and it starts. Then I tighten it back down and on I go..... ...

Re: 450 C Final Drive
So I am checking the fill plug on the side of the final drive (back of the dozer) where the gear is. not on top of the track but behind the dozer. that's the final drive fill level correct? I could be wrong on this one.

450 C Final Drive
Hey guys, I checked my final drive fluid and noticed it was above the fill plug on the left side. I drained it down to below the fill plug and went on about my business operating as normal. I did a cursory check the other day and found that the fluid was above the fill plug again. Where would this e...

Re: JD 450C radiator issues
Hey all - just wanted to thank everyone and let everyone know the outcome.
I had the radiator rebuilt and put it back in place. I ran the dozer for about 3 straight hours with no issues (normally by 15 minutes the coolant would spew out). I believe the issue has been solved. thanks again.

Re: JD 450C radiator issues
Should I flush the engine in any way? I used the little valve on the side of the engine to drain the coolant from the engine. should I push water through and let it drain? would that be beneficial at all?
Thanks for your thoughts.

Re: JD 450C radiator issues

I know that's not a big deal. however the next thing I noticed was the line going from the thermosta...
