neats foot foot powder
This is 50 years ago and one of those “As I recall”, my father in law had a late 60s and then a mid 70’s JD 350 as his daily machine. I would help him out when need be and he would occasionally put a small amount of Neats Foot powder on the the steering clutch if he noticed it starting to slip some....

Direction reverser
’58 420 reverser just started jumping out of forward. It had worked fine before without noise or grinding as long as I showed patience in shifting. I attached a lite bungy to keep it in forward direction and used the tran to change direction and it seems to work fine with no banging or thrashing and...

welded ring to sprocket photo
I have seen and made a copy of a real good picture of a 350 ring welded on some model sprocket and of course can’t find the copy or the site it came from. Tend not to think it came from JD crawler but maybe it did. Does anyone know if I’m just crazy or maybe not so much.

reverser
Have a ’58 420 and the reverser jumps out under heavy load. I would think this topic would have been discussed at some point but I can’t find anything d using reverser, reverser jumps out or pops out. How ‘bout a hint? Thanks

350 sprockets for 420
I’ve found someone to weld my 420 centers into new 350 sprockets. Two questions. My 420 sprockets are offset approx. 2 1/2. Is there a specific year or model 350 to specify in purchasing new sprockets. And I assume the cut and the weld are at the circular edge of the flat surface which mates to the ...

Re: 420C loader track update
Well, the 420 made its way through New York and she’s here now and appears to be what I thought except for those “oh, damn, look at that” moments up ahead. I had never been in the position before to look at an old weary machine and not have the track adjustment out hangin off the end. Kinda like bei...

420 sprocket
JD part# T 16261T sprocket for a 420 5 roller, what would it be worth new if they can be found? It sounds from the discussions here that they are no longer available. I may have found one, maybe two and looking to get a handle on the scale of this expenditure to match up with a nice set of 420 chain...

Re: 420C loader track
See if I can straighten this out. I currently have a 420 crawler that was originally a loader. The track assembly is short on life, nothin left to bush, pin, turn or adjust. It was converted to a crawler before the guy I bought it from using what appears to be a 1010 track assembly and blade. I’m go...
