Re: steering clutches look correct?

Do you know the actual thickness of the fibers? And I figured that the wear would let the fingers be further out not that close. It almost seems like the clutch basket wouldn’t fully disengage if it’s pressed

Re: steering clutches look correct?

I've got new steel/fiber and rebuilt pressure plates, But something just doesn't seem right to me. I'm thinking the tabs are to close together? tell me if im wrong or not and can someone give me som...

Re: Weighing out options--Which dozer should I buy? A 450, 450B, or a 350?

another random question about my 450 straight loader. I found a guy about 2 hours away and he has a set of 450b clutches(whole kit). he sold his dozer and wants rid of the clutches so I was wondering if they'll fit my straight or not. he's holding them for me right now but has some other guy interes...

I've heard also that there's two different types of transmissions and that the FWD/REV lever is mounted in two different places in the 350s. which is the better transmission to look for?

Re: Weighing out options--Which dozer should I buy? A 450, 450B, or a 350?

alrighty that explains a lot for the holes. the plugs are missing on both sides and when my grandfather bought the loader they said it has newer clutches. I figured that they shouldn't of rusted that badly on me in a few short years from steering perfect to steering like crap.

Re: Weighing out options--Which dozer should I buy? A 450, 450B, or a 350?

now what are some things to be looking for before buying in the C and D models? I seen somewhere else in the board that someone said the bolts between the transmission and motor? and I know this is off topic, but does anyone know on the 450 straights steering clutch compartment if it is water and ai...

Re: Weighing out options--Which dozer should I buy? A 450, 450B, or a 350?

the unfortunate thing is that I live 6 hours from this guy (he's in Fabius NY) and he doesn't know anything about the machine(or playing stupid) so I don't want to waste a day going up there and finding a whole lot more wrong with it

Re: Weighing out options--Which dozer should I buy? A 450, 450B, or a 350?

I won't have an issue moving It place to place, but what about part availability? my 450 loader can be difficult at times to get certain parts. I wasn't sure if the 350s are more difficult since there's less of them or not.

Working on my 450 loader and I have questions

Hey guys. I have a 450 crawler that I am replacing the steering clutches on. As I was pulling the machine apart, I have discovered that the steel plates and fiber plates within the steering clutch are not in the greatest working condition. The steel plates are rusted as well as pitted. The rust from...
