Re: Clanking trans

So it does it in 1,2,R the clunk is one time per revolution of the trans input shaft, both front and rear bearings and races on input shaft are new. The gears in case have some wear but nothing terrible, no broken teeth and neither of the other transmission shafts feel loose.

Clanking trans

In my 59 440 ICD (Studebaker powered NO REVERSER) I have a clanking noise in R,1,2,3 gears in forward and reverse.. All gears look ok when I pull the shifter cover off.. Any ideas?

Re: 440 icd steering adjustment

I guess the screwdriver pic figure 170-5-3 is for that top brake band adjustment. I had watched a video for adjustment on a 450 and thought they were the same.

Can someone please send me a picture via email or text as to the mythical place that the screwdriver goes to put the throw out bearing in correct position to then tighten the 1/2" bolt on the throw out bearing adjuster.. I've wedged...

Tracks 440

So on my 440 I have 4 bolts per track pad. So I assume these chains are from something else? I've looked several times and don't seem to see a pin that's beveled or that has a c-clip indicating a master pin. Right sides gotta come off track adjuster needs new seal..
