Couple technical Questions.

1.I have the 1959 IC JD 440 dozer. I can't seem to figure out the throttle adjustment. It has the spring at the dash with washers but when I put it back together after taking it apart the throttle wants to stay half open instead of on idle. Its like I need to rotate the spring? Don't understand it. ...

Re: 440 for sale in NY

I would buy that thing in a heart beat. I paid that much for my JD440IC and it doesn't look bad but yours is in way better shape. If it is painted and seat in good condition they must have taken care of it. I am replacing worn out parts left and right but it runs great not sure how but they can take...

Re: JD 440 IC Head Gasket

Thanks for the tips. I too the head off in about an hour. Looks like it was the head gasket as I ran it hard for a few hours and no oil in the coolant. Now onto some other minor issues.

JD440 IC flush the hydraulics

Can someone tell me how to flush the hydraulic system. I changed it once but it is so bad looks like water still in the old oil its still murky. I heard flushing with hydraulic oil/diesel works. But which hose do I take off to start bleeding it until new oil comes through?

JD 440 IC Head Gasket

I just bought a JD 440IC and noticed it is pumping oil into the radiator. It looks like it would be the head gasket and I hope not a cracked block.
