Re: 450C near death accident

Thanks so much guys for the well wishes and encouragement. Jim, you are exactly right that those items should be checked regularly. I obviously failed to do so. I’ll be turning mine off every time I dismount regardless of the situation. It’s a headache and harder on the machine but that pales in com...

Re: 450C near death accident

Thanks so much Bruce. I am fortunate to have a lot of people praying for me and I will certainly take all I can get.

Re: 450C near death accident

Thanks for the encouraging words Jason. I'm very fortunate to have a trooper of a wife and mother who both have medical backgrounds so that has helped tremendously. I also have a close knit group of friends that have really been there for more at every turn. I fully intend to get back to as close to...

450C near death accident

I have been contemplating for a while whether I should post anything about this and I've decided if my story makes 1 person be more careful around their machine then it is worth it. I realize this isn't tech support and if it needs to be moved elsewhere please move it. I am fully embarrassed by my s...

Re: 450c idler and rollers oil level check/fill

That makes sense. I figured there was a reason for the procedure. Just couldn’t put my finger on it

Re: 450c idler and rollers oil level check/fill

That makes sense but wouldn’t it still be easier/quicker to just put oil in the level hole with something? Maybe the hole is too small for that.

450c idler and rollers oil level check/fill

Maybe I'm not thinking about this right but what's up with the operator manual procedure for checking/adding oil to the idlers and rollers? Install grease fitting in fill plug, fill until it runs out of oil level hole, install oil level plug, remove grease fitting and install fill plug (summarized)....

Re: 450c died when shifting/clutch. Won’t start

Thanks guys. Good to know. There is a negative wire run with the positive but it wasn’t hooked up. There is a terminal on the solenoid for it but I suppose it’s not required for correct operation.

Re: 3325 winch issue

Just wanted to follow up on this. Installed new pickup screen, flushed with sea foam, new oil and filter and it works great. Thanks for all the help.

Re: 450c died when shifting/clutch. Won’t start

Ended up being fuel. See pic for the culprit. I haven’t read in to this yet but this wire broke that goes to a fuel control valve (not sure what it’s really called). Maybe controlled while key is on or something. Not real sure.

450c died when shifting/clutch. Won’t start

I was pushing logs with my 450c and had been half clutching to shift from forward to reverse and back. I tried it without the clutch once but came to a full stop between shifting from neutral to forward. As soon as I shifted in to gear something popped (not very loud) and the motor died like it was ...

Re: 3325 winch issue

Bruce, I hadn’t thought about sea foam to clean it out. Just dump it in with fluid fill, run for a short period, then change oil and filter?

Re: 3325 winch issue

Everything is pointing towards clogged pickup screen. I drained fluid and pulled the bottom cover off today. The filter was stopped up solid with a milky goop. The oil has already turned milky as well. It looks like someone sealed the right side cover and the bottom cover with something they shouldn...

Re: 3325 winch issue

I tried it at about 3/4 throttle and didn’t make a difference. I’ll check the screen B town mentioned and report back. I have a tech manual but didn’t see that screen in any diagrams
