Is there a good hydraulic leak stop out there?
Is there a good hydraulic leak stop out there? I have some cylinder seal leaks, nothing terrible, but enough to try something before pulling all the cylinders and hoses and everything for rebuilds, which would cost more than I can afford. I trust you guys more than Googling, as this forum has been a...

Re: JD450C radiator hoses, where to find formed hoses
Cookeville Radiator did both the radiator and the oil cooler tank, cleaned internally and externally, brazed up, pressurized both for $220! I have used them many times for vintage radiators and they do great work. Just look up Cookeville Radiator in Cookeville, Tenn and you will find them. Also dis ...

Re: JD450C starter issue, smoke from ground strap hole
Yep, A New starter and this baby starts faster than ANY vehicle I have ever owned! ANY vehicle.
Also cleaned all the wire contacts and terminals, as good ground is critical.
Thanks!

JD450C starter issue, smoke from ground strap hole
Guys, starting got more and more sluggish over last two weeks. Thought it might be weak battery, colder temps causing more drag, maybe main starting circuit wire connection corrosion, etc. Fixed all that and no improved starting power, then noticed smoke coming out the hole in the starter body where...

JD450C radiator hoses, where to find formed hoses
While I got the rad out for repairs I want to replace the hoses with new, and the oil cooler hoses too. 1. Where to get the formed hoses? I would rather not use universal ribbed hose as they put lots of sideways stress on the thin metal nipples on the tank itself, when bent. 2. For the oil cooler ho...

Re: JD450C radiator availabilty
Got it fixed at Cookeville Radiator for $100 and will pick it up this week i hope. Its a 2 hour drive.to get it, but worth it. They do great work on vintage radiators and I know it will work for years to come.

JD450C radiator availabilty
My 450c popped a big hole in the radiator upper tank today. I know I can pull it and get it acid washed, cored and brazed at a good shop I have used before. But I looked for a new one, and all I found were $1,200 or more! It is a JD part number AT39009. Is there a crossover list somewhere that might...

Missing voltage regulator on my JD 450C
Electrical phenomenon on my JD 450C Ok, this is weird: I am working on fixing and repairing stuff on my new old JD 450C and I find the voltage regulator is completely disconnected! It is present, but not hooked up. In fact, a LOT of wiring is simply gone, switches not hooked to anything. I got a lot...

Re: 450c idler and rollers oil level check/fill
I was wondering EXACTLY same thing as I am getting set to do full lube on EVERYTHING on my "new " 450C
This was a curiosity I never saw anywhere before on all my crazy vehicles.
Now I understand.
Thanks guys!

Re: Tach drive cable
Hey 450FiveString, I got home this morning and went right to the dozer to find the tach cable drive connection. It is pretty easy to get to but was covered in grease and goop and I missed it before. The threaded adapter is there, and so it looks like all I need is the cable. Let me know if you think...

Re: Tach drive cable
Wow! That would be awesome! I am in Nevada on a weeks business trip but will be home at 2am Saturday....ugh. I think that would be great and would gladly give you shipping money and more if you wanted. I need to get my eyes on the connection to the engine and see if the adater and little pinion are ...

Manual says it connects to flywheel area, no pics or drawings. Can i get to the area if I remove the two floor pans? Got any pics of what I should s...

Re: JD450C want to rebuild the T handle linkages
Thanks for the replies and good advice! My temptation is to buy the new assembly and make it right again. But I love tinkering to fix stuff. What if I packed JB Weld around the loose roll spring pins to eliminate the wobble/loose condition? As long as I don't get it in the hole, it should hurt anyth...
