JD550G Hydraulic Steel tube fabricator or aftermarket

Good day I need to replace a cracked and heavily worn Hydraulic steel tube with oring face seal fittings. Interested in finding a hydraulic tube fabricator or someone who sells these tubes aftermarket. Replacing with a hose would be a challenge due to the space and routing. JD part number AT157153 (...

4000 Winch Weldco-Beales MFG Arch

Good day We have a weldco-beales logging arch for our 4000 winch. The issue that we are having is with the fairlead. The two vertical rollers will not turn and we cannot drive out the center pins out to work on them. I have the parts explosion from weldo-beales. Has anyone experienced this issue and...

Re: Algae in the transmission fluid JD 550G

Thank you everyone. Good information, I will try to call JD and learn about the 4000 service manual and post what I find here. Makes sense that it is not algae, but a microbe or a bacteria. The fluid was brand new that we emptied out (no discolorization and no visible water), but I think that the wi...

Algae in the transmission fluid JD 550G

JD 550G Dozer We have had this machine for a couple of weeks now. It appears that we have algae in the transmission. This machine had very limited usage for the last 7-8 years. As in some years it was just started but not driven. When we clean out the transmission screen it is plugged with what look...

Re: Moving a 3325 winch from a 450C to a 550B

Thank you for your reply.

We have acquired a different machine (550G). We will most likely put the winch up for sale, as well as the brush rack from this machine.

Moving a 3325 winch from a 450C to a 550B

Good day. We lost our 450C with 3325 winch in one of the fires in Oregon and we are working on a replacement machine. The Winch appears to be undamaged where as the rest of the 450C is history (radiator melted. majority of hoses gone, Most the seal in cylinders are gone, most of the wiring is gone e...

450C and wildfire

The fires in Oregon made it to one of our tree farms and 2nd one is not in the clear yet. We could not get in to move the 450C, a JD Gator and a Fire trailer off of the property. This means we are again in the market for a 450C, D or E (the little research that I have done indicates that our Winch t...

Re: JD 450C 3325 Winch issue

The oil fill hole is not easy to get to with the Logging arch attached to the winch. We wound up getting it out with a set of flat nose pliers, pointed down vertical, open the handles and twisted. The plug came out easily (no screw driver and hammer needed on this unit) Here is the service manual im...

Re: JD 450C 3325 Winch issue

Here is the PTO to winch coupling. You can see that the coupling is only on the PTO side of the machine. We were able to use a pry bar in the rollpin hole to get the two shafts to line up. We than put in a pin and the winch was back in business. http://jdcrawlers.lcent.com:8000/johndeere/albums/user...

Here are pictures of the semi cleaned pick up tube (we were able to get it fully cleaned. Also, pictured is the hydraulic pump for the winch with the bottom right plate off after draining all of the oil out of the winch. http://jdcrawlers.lcent.com:8000/johndeere/albums/userpics/10032/pick_up_tube_w...

Re: JD 450C 3325 Winch issue

Thank you everyone for the information and advice. Yesterday we were able to determine that the roll pin had fallen out and that the spline collar had moved over to the PTO side of the dozer and was no longer engaged with the winch. Using a tool to rotate the winch side allowed us line up the spline...

JD 450C 3325 Winch issue

Starting my own post on my particular issue with my 3325 Winch. We got the machine back in November 2019. We have used the winch off and on without any issues. About once or twice a month. A few days ago the winch worked on the first turn of logs for the day and than no longer free spooled or winch ...

Re: 3325 winch issue

Good Day, I might need to start a new thread, but our 3325 winch has stop disengaging or winching but does still hold. From reading this thread, I believe that we may have a plugged screen. I want to first check the fluid level and if necessary add Sea foam and Hydraulic fluid to the winch. I have n...
