The message translated by Google is: Thank you for accepting me on this forum. I have a jonh deere crawler 450 with HLR transmission. Re: JD450C 1975 New Starter Motor Needed

Even before going through the electrical connections and cable wire inspections, you could use a volt meter to see what the voltage drop is at the starter when under load. If most off the voltage isn't sitting at the starter when cranking, it's time to look for a hot spot somewhere back towards the ...

Re: Any farm tractor guys on here ? Need help

This is what the posting on the 1010 face book group had in answer to the question about hoses: on the top I used a 14 inch long flexible hose from NAPA. On the bottom I shortened the hose from the water pump to the elbow to bring it up to the radiator flange. The lower radiator flange was 1 3/4 so ...

The YM2200 is a gray market machine. I went looking for documentation on it and could not find anything in English.

Re: Any farm tractor guys on here ? Need help

YUP, your right. I thought it was going forward toward the engine. I didn't notice the gear numbers were upside down. It would be for adjusting how quickly the lift arms drop. I had quite a time getting the one on my Jimna mfg tractor unfrozen. The box blade took forever to go down.

Re: Any farm tractor guys on here ? Need help

With the handle having a twist action and the placement of it, I'd guess it is for decompression control.

Re: Fly wheel questions

I don't know the machine. But, I'd check the manual to see if there were shims used for adjusting the tooth mesh of the starter drive with the ring gear. If it were too tight the pinion wouldn't be able to mesh with the ring gear and just grind on the face of the of the teeth. With Chevys you could ...

Re: Cracked housing repair

One step you might consider in the repair process would be to drill a stop hole at the end of the crack. The crack creates a stress concentration and the drilling operation will relieve the stress. Concerning brazing vs welding; with either operation heat soak it well. Heating will also relieve stre...

Re: tips on changing reverser fluid & filter on 1010c diesel

Many years ago I worked with a guy in a manufacturing facility testing lab that would get excited when the oil change for his car was due. He loved doing maintenance! A common phrase he would say in near disgust concerning the way most maintain their stuff: "Oil, isn't that something they put in at ...

Re: Anyone familiar with throttle cable troubles ?

Every now and then We would have an aircraft with stiff control cables for the throttle or carb heat. If the cable had a solid jacket we would remove the cable from the bellcrank it mounted to and slide a length of hose over it and clamp it tight on the housing. Then fill the open end of the added h...

Re: 440 another engine question

If you want to be artsy-craftsy you could put a plug just below to wrinkle and electroplate to build it up. Afterwards, use a Lisle 1500 hone to bring the area back out to match without introducing a conical shape. I think a battery charger, some acid for the solution and some donor material to matc...
