450C common sump question

What are the benefits to doing a common sump conversion? What are the consequences if I leave it the same? Is there another thread describing the conversion..from what I looked up, it seems confusing to do Do a search, on this site, for '450C common sump conversion' and you will find several discus...

HLR neutral discussion

I had a 450C recalled and modified by JD... Note that, before the modification, there WAS NO NEUTRAL position for the 4 speed TRANSMISSION! The neutral flapper only secured the HLR direction reverser LEVER which, through wear in the linkage, could jiggle itself into activating the hydraulic clutches...

I agree withStan... It's not a 350C; the loader linkage is completely different from the (probable) straight 350 shown in your picture.

I ran my 350C and 450C, without additional counter weights, with the backhoes removed all the time... both had 4in1 buckets, standard drawbar/belly counter weights and the standard sprocket weights...I dropped the hoe off as soon as it wasn't needed, and I never had any trouble digging or loading tr...

I took one of mine off, and straightened it out, by putting it up on blocks of firewood and running my tracks over it...several times.
Much easier than beating on it, and it did a pretty good job. You'll still need a bottle jack to get the back end bolts in though.

The loader linkages on a straight 350 vs a 350B or 350C is different... the imported 350 being discussed in this thread has the earlier straight 350 design linkage.

Re: 93 hoe is on but doesn't work right

So I got the backhoe mounted on my 2010. Plumbed into the output line right off the pump with a "T" and reconnected the existing line that runs to the bucket controls to the other side of the "T". I'm not sure how the 2010's are set up, but I suspect you need a Power Beyond fitting on the Outlet si...

Re: battery box

420: im not sure how to keep the battery from banging around especially with that gas tank so close. thanks. I used to use those cans of expanding foam that you can get at Home Depot to hold the batteries in on my dump trucks; Just center the battery in the battery box and squirt the foam in all ar...

It could also be coolant getting into the crankcase...
Most likely from cavitation erosion (pinholes) in the cylinder liners, or the oil cooler.
