Re: 3325 winch leaking from weep hole

Thanks,
As soon as the weather clears up I will pull it apart, hope it is just a loose fitting.

3325 winch leaking from weep hole

Evening all, My 3325 winch squirts hydraulic oil about 30 feet out a small weep hole located below the center of the left quill when I engage the retrieve function. It winds in slowly without power but leaks like a sieve. It spools fine I have looked in my books and can't determine which seals and O...

Re: JD450 thru JD450G Serial Numbers

Hello Jim,
Sorry about posting in the wrong place, but thank you for the information. I will go ahead and order those parts you listed.

Seems there is always something to do when you own a dozer.

Take Care,

Re: JD450 thru JD450G Serial Numbers

I guess I might be a little dense. :?: I own a 450C with a six way dozer that the over pressure filter button on the hydralic tank started popping up on. I found the Serial Number plate on the front of the battery box. 4500C 264170T Looking at the chart the number doesn't show me much about my dozer...

Re: BAD Diesel HELP

I use a product called PRI-D. https://theepicenter.com/pri-d-diesel-fuel-treatment-pint.html If you take the time to read the article and the attached information you might want to use it. It really works. I use it in all my diesels and my tanks and barrels, keeps the fuel fresh for a long time, lub...

BF McDonald Tin Hat Suspensions

I wore one of these tin hats for about 40 years before my last suspension wore out and I couldn't find a replacement. Last fall I went looking and found a source for them. I ordered one and it works great and I am glad to have my old tin hat back, I am not a fan of the plastic. Anyway, if you are in...

Re: Question about 450C rollers

Thanks Leonard,
I wondered if that was the case with the rollers.
I am currently trying to remove the rock guards and replace the left rear roller.
Had to order some special tools that will be here Friday, I hope.
Thank You

Question about 450C rollers

Hello, Well, as I work through this 1977 450C dozer I am finding new problems, one roller bad and needs to be replaced, the rest I wonder if they need lubing. All of them have a 5/16 square plug in them that is very tight. Do I need to get the plug out to service them? They don't look like the pictu...

Re: After market engine numbers location

Hello, I have discovered a lot since my last post. The engine SeriaI Number is: 4219DF-01-275484, the casting numbers on the block are R55011-R55034. It is 80 hp engine off a Sullair 185cfm air compressor. John Deere told me that the engines were sold to Sullair without serial numbers and the number...

Re: After market engine numbers location

Hello, I have the serial number for the dozer: 264170T. After cleaning up the tag on the engine I found it is a John Deere engine. Trying to find a match to the numbers I found has me baffled. The guy I bought it from said it had a aftermarket engine in it is about all I know. The first characters I...

Re: After market engine numbers location

Hello, I found the little plate on the engine right where you said it would be. Someone had painted over it pretty heavy so I will get some paint remover and clean it off so I can read the numbers. I will be back when I get that.
Thanks for the help!

Re: After market engine numbers location

Hello, The dozer is a 450c according to the serial number. I was told it was a aftermarket engine. It is turbo charged and runs strong. The tach doesn't work. The previous owner told me there wasn't a place to hook the tach to the engine. he didn't know where the engine came from. I heard that some ...

After market engine numbers location

I purchased a 450C that has an after market engine in it. I can find casting numbers on it but they seem to lead no where. Is there some place on the engine I should be looking?
Really enjoy this site, you have helped me with several issues and repairs. Thank Yoou
