JD40C safety block
Don I may have mispoken whin i called them TRACK safety blocks. The parts catalog just calls them safety blocks, part# 19 & 20, page 65-2. They bolt to the rear cross bar allowing the sprocket to contact them which is suppose to stop the tractor in case the tracks become clogged. They apparently wor...

JD40C serial number ?
Hi.
I have a JD40C, three roller with no serial number tag on it. I believe it is a 1953. Does any one know if there is any way to find out what the serial numbers should be?
Thanks
Herb

Lavoy I went ahead and installed the switch without the resistor. It seems to work ok. The best i can tell, the resistor cuts back on the amount of charg that goes into the battery when the lights are off and when the lights are on the resistor is being bypassed. I would rather use the correct one i...

JD 40 ignition/lighy switch
I just received an ignition/light switch, that the dealer said would fit a JD 40C. The original switch has a resistor on the back of it and the new one does not. Does any one know if i can use this one or do i need one with a resistor.
