There is no 3 bolt quill on the axle shaft, only the pinion shaft. Either way, you need to quit using the crawler and pull the final drive to find out what is wrong.

I have a 440 dozer and the quill on the left side that holds the shaft that drives the track sprocket is getting horizontal force pushing the quill out. Thanks for the reply, Lavoy. I looked up a video on engine removal, and by center section do you mean the framework that looks like it connects the clutch housing to the frame?
