Re: Baffling Problem with Brand New Steering Clutches

Didn’t take it apart and not if I will again but I can tell for sure the brake band is toast by looking through the top. When I originally adjusted it worked great. Can’t believe I burnt it up in 30 minutes but I did. Still doesn’t explain in not pulling though.

Baffling Problem with Brand New Steering Clutches

Deere 1010c with brand new steering clutch kits purchased from Lavoy and installed and set per manual instructions by me. The first 30 minutes of operation everything worked beautifully then right side quit pulling and brake doesn’t work. Also, the main clutch started sticking all of a sudden and wo...

1010c blade compatibility help

I’ve got a 63 or 64 JD 1010c with a manual blade. Has hydraulic up and down only and was told it was from an earlier model dozer. The frame is inside the tracks and has cylinders that have exterior long bolts. I’ve come across a six way blade and control valve from a 1970 JD 350. I was told this bla...

Help with 1010c Final Drive Removal

Ive got all bolts out except one of the 4 big bolts that hold on final drive that are parallel with track, I can’t get the inside bottom one off. I’ve tried impact (a good one) and it still won’t budge. I got the other 3 out with a power handle and pull bar. There’s no room to rotate handle on this ...

1010c Sprocket Question

Started the process of taking the right final drive off to replace clutch pack. I’ve separated track and lifted right side up. I was ready to take sprocket off but it won’t turn. It’s in neutral. Am I missing something? Can’t get to bottom sprocket bolts with impact because of carriage frame. Should...

Need a Steering Clutch

Where’s the best place to buy a steering clutch kit for 1010c? I know for sure I need one (maybe two). Also, what else is customary to replace while you’re in that far? Thanks

1010 master link

I can’t find it. What am I missing? I thought they had a done shape with a clip. All look flat to me and identical.

1010 steering clutch diagnosis

Y’all have been very helpful so far. This barn find I have is looking to not be a lost cause. Engine is running great. Got everything lubed up and started trying it out. Everything worked great for about 5 minutes. After working steering clutches, the left one started acting up. The guy I got it fro...

Re: 1010 track

Yes I mean side to side. The machine has 1600 hours on a working hour meter. The tracks themselves look really good so I’m hoping the rest of the undercarriage is similar. I’m just now getting familiar with a dozer. First time owner.

1010 track

If you are standing on top of track between top roller and idler should you be able to rock the track back and forth with your feet on the edges?
