Scot; I'll give it a shot, the diff lock shouldn't have any effect on the engine starting. Possibility the starter is engaged to the flywheel. Locked up as you said. Try taking the starter off an see if it will engage outside the bell housing. If it won't have it checked out. Check batteries, cable ...

I would take it to a Alternator,starter repair shop before I would buy new.
If you can't find one there is one up here that would do it. Just my opinion.

Hi 420cbrett ;
There are many post about this.Rule of thumb and many will tell you the
same,never use both reverses at the same time. Most have the transmission blocked so as not to use it . Take a bolt and nut put it in the slot for rev and tighten it up and forget about it.
