Re: JD 450c 4219t, Who manufactuers reputable rebuild kits?

I just did a complete rebuild with the reliance parts and was very happy with the quality of the parts. They also offer a standard compression and a high compression kit. I opted for the high compression kit for a little boost in power. The part number was RP720 from AgKits.com as they seemed to hav...

Re: JD 450 B with 6415 blade replacement hydraulic hoses

If you have not done these yet, I had NAPA build all the hydraulic hoses for mine. They had the fittings and the proper hose for the job. I think with doing them all, I was out about $1K.

Re: can swap ar49900 for ar51748

It does appear that you can use either one. A quick search shows that the AR51748 is an alternate number for the AR49900 as a replacement. Here is the specs for both. https://stanadyne.com/dealerportal/ssi/John%20Deere/02409.pdf https://stanadyne.com/dealerportal/ssi/John%20Deere/02802.pdf I hope I ...

I used one of the radiators from them also and they are good to deal with. The quality is good and the customer service is top notch.

I used this company for the rebuild that I just did on my 450C and the parts were of good quality.

6-Way Blade Controls

What do people normally do with the blade control handle and linkage when it gets so loose you have a "mystery shifter"? I looked and found that none of the parts are available anymore and thought about welding them up and re-drilling them. Then the thought crossed my mind that I have a bunch of thr...

Re: 450C project and needing assistance

Well, I decided to just pull the engine out and start a teardown to see what has failed. So far there is a blown head gasket on cylinder 4, which I assume is the most likely cause of water in the oil. I have not found any cracks in the head or the block so far. Are the block dowel pins still availab...

Re: 450C project and needing assistance

Thanks for the information. The ID tag shows 450CC 274563T. The engine tag shows 4219CT 02 418271T. I have gone through all the posts from cordlesscarpenter and there is great information in there. I appreciate the in-depth write-up that he has done for that restoration project. I was just looking f...

450C project and needing assistance

Hello everyone. I just bought a basket case of a 450C for a decent price and would like to get some opinions from those with way more knowledge. I have put about 2-3 hours on it to determine how bad it really is, and what needs to be addressed first. It appears that the engine is going to need to co...

Re: JD 350b diesel in the oil. (Old loader sat for 17 years)

There are very few ways that fuel could get into the oil. Usually it is the fuel pump diaphragm that leaks, an injector body leaking, or the injection pump seals. You have rebuilt the fuel pump, so that should be good. I would suggest that you have the pump gone through by a reputable shop and maybe...

Re: Dust proofing a 10SI Alternator

The only thought I would have is finding a marine alternator. They have fine mesh screens on them that may help with dust.
