Re: 440’s at work

For someone that has a crawler loader a blade attachment would be a great attachment to have.

Re: 440’s at work

dtoots1 A 6 way blade is a big advantage if doing more than just pushing material. You could put a blade on your loader frame. This picture shows my 440IC 831. It has a fork lift attatcment that has the manual 6 way blade from a model 63 dozer adapted to it. http://jdcrawlers.lcent.com:8000/johndeer...

Re: Sizing battery

“ Where did you tap into the coolant for the return?“ old dutchman There was a tank heater available as an option from John Deere. Electric or LP gas. It returned the heated coolant to the plate on the back of the cylinder head. http://jdcrawlers.lcent.com:8000/johndeere/albums/userpics/10056/IMG_07...

Re: Rotary swing cylinder

Thanks Leonard A bearcat is a good description. I put the job off for a few months thinking I had to remove the boom. I finally looked in the 410 shop manual and found out it could be removed and leave the boom on. The shop manual had helpful disassembly and assembly info. The outrigger hydraulic cy...

Rotary swing cylinder

The swing cylinder on my John Deere 410 backhoe was leaking around 1 gallon of hydraulic oil an hour. It was time to reseal it. This uses the round rotary swing cylinder that is also used on some 350,450 and other crawlers with a backhoe. I only took a few pictures but thought it might help someone ...

Re: 440’s at work

Most of the time when I have something heavy to lift I use my John Deere 410. This time it was part of the 410 so the 440 crawler loader was put to work.

Re: 440’s at work

Most of today’s young people never get a chance to operate any equipment. Even with all of the advances In technology we will still need new operators in the future. Plant the seeds early.

Re: 440’s at work

I don’t think my grand kids “like” the dirt but are ok with it. When we are done their parents want them in the shower first thing.
When they come to visit without mom and dad we have different rules. More than anything they like to go fishing. I am ok with that.
