I could of course be wrong but I checked an extra pedal that I have and it looks like cast steel to me.

Re: 440ICD Oil Filter
One of my crawlers had the canister oil filter replaced with a spin on type. The second picture shows how the filter has the restriction built into the filter. http://jdcrawlers.lcent.com:8000/johndeere/albums/userpics/10056/IMG_2983.jpeg http://jdcrawlers.lcent.com:8000/johndeere/albums/userpics/10...

Re: 440ICD Oil Filter
I took these pictures in January as I was disassembling a 2-53. The first picture shows the two oil filter lines connected to the block. In the second picture the return line has been removed and the pressure line is still connected to the block. This is a partial/bypass filter but is better than no...

440IC gas or 440ICD diesel? I have both and the hydraulic tank is in the front by the radiator. Look for 2 flip up covers on the front of the hood. One is for the radiator the other for the hydraulic tank. This would be for a crawler.

Re: Reviving a '59 440 ICD
I have a 440 ICD with 350 chains and 350 sprocket rims welded to the cut down 440 sprocket.
It still has 440 rollers and front Idler.

Hydrogeo
The C3 and C12 are similar but different. The C3 has manual controls and the C12 has hydraulic controls
Best I can find out the C3 came first then the C12 and then the CG12 which looks like a C12 with manual controls.

Re: Carco C12 winch.
Thanks Jim
I did find the Paccar site when I was looking for info on a Gearmatic 8a winch. I looked thru it again and don’t see the Carco C12 or the Gearmatic 8a listed. I will take you advise and contact them.

Carco C12 winch.
Well another 440ICD followed me home last week, it has engine trouble so I don’t have it running yet. The dozer has a Carco C12 winch that the previous owner says doesn’t work. I have found a lot of references to the C12 on Case dozers but none on John Deere 440’s. Does anyone here have any experien...

Re: Need photo of 1010c transmission drain plug location
I grabbed a tape measure and checked the drain plug location on my 1010. In the center 3 1/4” forward of the back of the transmission case. 8” forward of the back of the belly pan. The belly pan has 3 holes. It looks like one for the reverser one for the drawbar pin?? And the back one for the transm...

Re: Need photo of 1010c transmission drain plug location
newwood That is #6 on the parts diagram it has a spring and detent ball on it. It is what is shown on your picture of the maintenance manual. The 1010 I have I bought for parts (under carriage and 6 way blade) so I hadn’t ever changed the transmission oil. I went and looked it over this morning and ...

Re: Need photo of 1010c transmission drain plug location
newwood I have a 1010 so I went and took a look and see the drain plug just where Lavoy described. When I got home I took a look in the pars manual and it shows 2 drain plugs. One on the left and after serial# 48383 the case was changed and the plug is on the right side. So if your serial # is highe...
