I noticed oil level going up so I changed the fuel pump and oil ran for a couple hours and oil level coming up again so I pulled the injector pump and found the umbrella seal towards the pump had been rolled over I assume while ins...

Re: 1985 350c isolator
Any idea where the fuel tank vent on this machine is
The cap itself is not vented There is a small tube at the fill neck but it has no way to vent It has a lot of vacuum when removing the cap after running

Re: 1985 350c isolator
Leonard Thanks Funny you should mention the water pump I did check it this morning when I started reconnecting everything the water pump had some wobble to it so I pulled off and yes it's a lot easier now versus pulling everything later to change the pump and risking damaging the radiator I will rep...

Re: 1985 350c isolator
Leonard Thanks for the advice after reading several discussions on the internet I now understand that the clunking is normal I just wanted to make sure that nothing was coming apart The input shaft on the reverser has about .002 end play And no oil leaks from the reverser seal or the engine rear mai...

Re: 1985 350c isolator
So I pull the engine and find that it has already been up graded to the new style rubber isolator everything looks in great condition I'm now thinking that the clunking/knocking sound I'm hearing when I shut the engine down must be coming from the reverser although it works fine other than getting w...

Re: 350c running rough at lower rpm
Update Pulled the injector pump and took it to a diesel shop in Birmingham to have it rebuilt 3 days later they called me and had it ready They told me that the weight cage was loose on the shaft and that the flex ring had failed Installed the pump and it runs better than ever Now that all the mecha...

Re: 350c running rough at lower rpm
Update Talked with a pump shop guy and he recommended removing te timing cover on the pump and carefully separating the weight cage to see if I could tell if the flex plate was intact I couldn't see the flex plate but was able to turn the weight cage about a 1/4 turn so I told him what I found and h...
