Re: Any body play around with rubber pads on 420 or other crawlers?

A neighbour of ours once had a contract to remove a railway line, and to run his TD6 along the road he cut the side wall of a scraper tyre into blocks using a chainsaw and lots of water.

Just FWIW I had a frozen pin in the track of my 40 and was talking to the local JD parts guy. He said that there must be a lot of JD crawlers around because they were supplying lots of pins and bushes to the nearby track shop. When I spoke to the track shop they said the JD p&b were a standard size ...

I have a neighbour who took his BTD6 on a job that required running on the road so he got a scraper tyre and cut blocks out of the side wall with a chainsaw.
I have the remains of the tyre here - made a great sandpit.

Mike
I found building my blade was a lot of fun and I'm sure yours will be too. But getting to use it is the real payback.
I'd be real interested in any progress photos you care to post and definitely want to see the final result.

Thanks for the kind words guys it's much appreciated. I built the blade like that as I use the 40 around the farm as well - rolled a 12 acre paddock with it the other day, made a nice smooth job with no wheel ruts! But I figured you don't need to haul a blade around when you'r doing something like t...

Mike T I built a blade for my 3 roller 40 that can be easily fitted and removed. If you check out http://www.jdcrawlers.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?t=1705 you will see that to connect the blade to the crawler I drive over the sub-frame, connect the hoses and retract the rams which raises the rear...

JD has the parts book online - I'm not sure but you may need to sign in (its free).
Go to deere.com click on parts top left then click on Agricultural Parts then click on view parts catalog and then enter 350 in the find model box and select your model.
