Re: 350C Undercarriage Overhaul

As of yesterday, 12/23, I am again the owner of a functional JD 350C crawler loader. Thanks to everyone here who provided advice, and encouragement. With the new undercarriage she works like a dream, a far cry from where she was before the project.

Re: 350C Undercarriage Overhaul

Thanks for all the advice so far. She's half apart right now. Discovered that old wear strips were so badly worn that there is not inconsequential wear to the frame itself. Should I build up the frame and bring it back to the original dimensions? If so do we know what flavor of steel the frame is ma...

Re: 350C Undercarriage Overhaul

The part I am most concerned about is removing / inserting the pin, the tech manual tells you to use a D-01030AA which I assume even if I could find i assume would be super expensive (other generic track pin pushers I could find prices on look like 2- 3k+). removal is probably going to be an oxy tor...

350C Undercarriage Overhaul

My 350CB serial number 329326T (which according to a post on this forum puts it as a 1979 model) is in desperate need of major undercarriage work. The tracks are shot, all of the track pin outer bushings are completely worn through to the inner pin on with only50-80% of the bushing remaining. the id...

Re: 350C Crawler Loader Engine Issue

Never posted the conclusion to this.
LeonardL was correct, the problem did reappear after about 2 hours running.
The ring was toast, but after replacing it the dozer is back up and running.
My (belated) thanks to those that guided me through this issue, you guys are awesome.

Re: 350C Crawler Loader Engine Issue

I still suspect the return check valve is plugged and you're pressurizing the injection pump. Pull the 90 degree elbow and clean that out real well and install and see if it will run better for a bit. Thanks for the advice, the ball check valve was packed solid, cleaned it out and it fired right up!

Re: 350C Crawler Loader Engine Issue

I am just a bit curious....have you checked on the fuel injector pump for failure of the pentane gasket ( pellets) that have been discussed on this forum ??? this is usually a problem with the roosa master pump. interferes with fuel to cylinders and dies from build up of pellets I was not checking ...

350C Crawler Loader Engine Issue

I have a 350CB (crawler loader) serial number 329326T (which according to a post on this forum puts it as a 1979 model) with engine model 3164DF 01 serial number 461445T which is having some issues. I will recount the events as they happened in order, not as I learned them, so some of my diagnostic ...
