no load on engine when using valves. all valves are affected . would one ball out of place affect all the other valves. at the end of the valve assembly is what looks like a valve body with no spindle or handle that the pressure line and the return line go to. I took it apart but there are no parts ...

50 backhoe lost power
I have a 50 backhoe on my 440ic. while doing some digging I lost power and range of motion on all hyd. cylinders. the first thing I did was check the fluid level , and it was fine . Next I changed the filter, and while the old filter was quite dirty, there was no change in performance. when I switch...

440 hydraulic tensioners
Good morning all, A while back I replaced the seals on the end of the shafts of my track tensioners. Yesterday one track when slack and when I looked close there was a whole lot of grease coming out of the barrel. pushed the seal on the end of the barrel right out. I took it apart and the seal looks...

starter grinding
The starter on my 440 doesn't always engage and it makes an awful grinding noise. I pulled it and the ends of the teeth on the starter are showing wear. fortunately there is little damage to the gear on the fly wheel. The starter looks fine. Is there anything I can do or is a rebuild in order. Thank...

Thanks Duke, I am running, however, I am over heating after about 50 minutes of operation (the bulldozer is too:). I installed a new thermostat and new cap on the radiator, but sill getting hot. I guess that leaves the water pump or the radiator. I don't even know where to get radiator work done aro...

Yes Lavoy, I was kind of thinking that way. This is the second machine I have pulled the final drives an, and while it was easier the second time, it wasn't any more fun. I noticed on a previous visit to this site that you had a seal kit for sale. does that have seals for both the axles and the ones...

440 final drives
I just pulled both final drives, and the left side had about a pint of oil in it and the clutch and break band was drenched in oil. This would probably explain why I could not turn to the right, or when pushing or going up hill it would turn to the left. The inside of the right side was fairly dry, ...
