Re: Blade hoses replacement 450c
I gave up on trying to remove the cover and was able to get the blown hose off and out. Replaced it and am back dozing.

Blade hoses replacement 450c
Blew the right tilt hose where it enters the 4 hose clamp on the blade arm. So far I have removed the hose cover up front , removed the nut and bolt that secures the 4 hose clamp and got 6 of the 8 bolts that hold the cover in front of the valve box. Now I have to somehow get to the 2 remaining bolt...

Re: Hydraulic question
Thanks for the reply. I’ll get around to testing it out after I finish my logging. Thankfully I can do most of the work with my tractor.

Hydraulic question
I’m going to admit my ignorance of hydraulics . I was warming up my 450C and was going through blade operation and when I tilted the blade to the right, a hose blew out and sprayed fluid around. My question is this: If I don’t use the tilt function will I be able to move the dozer out of the woods w...

Re: Adjusting engine clutch free play
Today I tried adjusting the clutch pedal. From the original setting I backed off the adjusting bolt till it bottomed out and then tried the dozer out and found that when I shifted the HLR forward or backwards the engagement was pretty hard. It sort of “slammed “ into gear. I then readjusted the bolt...

Re: Adjusting engine clutch free play
I attempted to adjust clutch free play and started by backing the bolt out and could discern no apparent change in pedal feel even when it was backed out to the max. I then tried screwing it back in and all that seemed to happen is the pedal “bottomed” out sooner but still no free play feel. I must ...

Re: Adjusting engine clutch free play
I do have TM1102 and have read the relevant section
I just wanted a starting point.
I have not done any investigation of the transmission what with the cold weather.
The old girl is going to be sitting till spring.
Thanks for your feedback

Adjusting engine clutch free play
When I depress the clutch pedal on my 450C it will push straight to the stop with no apparent difference in stroke feel.
I am guessing that free play needs to be adjusted.
Which direction should I be turning the adjustment bolt to gain the proper amount of free play?

Re: 450c stops moving
When operated in #1 it did not slip even with a big hitch in really rough and muddy conditions.

Re: 450c stops moving
I understood you that it did this in lo, hi, forward, and reverse. I asked about in #1 in the 4 speed gearbox. What gear are you running in? So I put it in #1 and it seems to run normally but I didn’t give it a really heavy load test yet. I will give it a workout today as I have a big hitch waiting...

Re: 450c stops moving
It does it in lo as well as hi and reverse.
I haven’t done any diagnostic tests yet as I’m using it right now on a logging job.

450c stops moving
This happens when under load like climbing a rise while pulling a load or pushing something heavy. The engine speed doesn’t change, the dozer just stops. It happens in forward and reverse, hi or lo range. The dozer will move right along under open flat conditions. I have done full fluid and filter s...
