Diesel Engine Primer Starting Aid
When I got my 2010 back in 2006, it was missing the primer pump. I searched the internet and found a replacement for Deere part #AT15807T and AT17360T but the company that offered it was real proud of what they sold. It was over $100 which I thought was robbery for the device it was, but cold weathe...

Re: 2010 fuel line plumbing
Update: With the generous help from Diesel Jim, I tracked this down to a plugged return line. Deere's own parts manual (PC728, page 43) shows the leakoff hose going directly into the return port on the injector pump. I had it plumbed like that and it would run for 10-15 seconds and die. I also had a...

2010 fuel line plumbing
I posted a couple weeks back about a non starting issue. Since then I have tried to plumb all the fittings up with new stuff and had it running and pushed some dirt for 3 or 4 hours. Not all at one time, but over a couple days, which required starting. My primer pump failed and I substituted a push ...

Re: 2010C introduction to steering
I too have a 2010C and had some issues with right side steering. Went to Deere and got a reprint of the Service Manual (SM2037) and the Parts Catalog (PC728) These two books were a huge help in rebuilding the clutch pack along with getting the replacement parts from Lavoy. One tip... tie strings on ...

Re: 2010 injector pump timing
At the recommendation of Jimmy Diesel, I removed the check valve in the return line, gave it one tiny shot of ether, cranked it and it fired right up. Lavoy, you were right that it didn't sound like the pump was the problem. I still can't wrap my head around why this worked...however, I can get the ...

Re: 2010 loss of power
Jimmy,
Sent you private message. I can't tell if it's still sitting in the outbox or not so I don't know if you got it.
Was wondering if I could call you to discuss this in more detail. I am retired so I can call anytime.
thanks
rj

Re: 2010 loss of power
Tried loosening the 4 screws that hold the cap on top of the pump and saw a few bubbles coming out. Did this until I got no more air. Then removed the inspection cover with the fuel shutoff valves open and got a tiny little dribble. Cranked the engine with this little cover loose, and got a good flo...

Re: 2010 loss of power
I was wrong. I removed the return line and fitting(s) again, and the fitting next to the pump is indeed a check valve. I think it may have had a piece of debris keeping it from closing all the way. Does this mean the pump is indeed kaput?

Re: 2010 loss of power
It appears that there is no check valve in the return line..I'm afraid this pump has just gone the way of the dinosaurs. I would try and rebuild it if I could find someone that supplies a kit of parts, but in my research, it appears there are as many injector pumps as there are carter little liver p...

Re: 2010 injector pump timing
Did not see any debris behind the inspection plate. I removed throttle linkage to get to the fittings for the fuel input to the pump, so I know that's working ok...Have the air cleaner out and waiting on a replacement element. After a little more research, the part number is DBO-0404. Does Lavoy hav...

Re: 2010 injector pump timing
Jim,
The thing that frosts me the most is that it ran just fine for over an hour before it started acting up, running slower and slower, eventually dying.
Almost smells of some kind of fuel clog somewhere. I can't imagine injector pump internals working fine and deteriorating so quickly.

Re: 2010 injector pump timing
Ripped the filter off, and I had it on right. No gasket covering those slots.
Is the part number I listed a correct or close one?

Re: 2010 injector pump timing
Since you are helping me, the reason for the filter change in the first place was because of the "can't keep it running" problem. I can rip that filter off and check what I did, but because I get such good flow out of the second filter outlet, I would not suspect a problem with the first.
