Yes, remove the pipe plug, the grease fitting is likely under it. That sounds like the type I posted about.
Ok, I ll give it a try. It has to be under there.

Re: Help 1970 JD 350 B Loader

If I were to venture a guess I would say the adjuster on the right side has been replaced with an aftermarket ram assembly. Those come with the grease fitting in the end of what appears as a large bolt at the front of adjusting cylinder. That bolt is actually a release mechanism as well as the mech...

Help 1970 JD 350 B Loader

Hey guys, I just bought a 1970 JD 350 B loader. I’m looking to tighten the track on the right side of the machine. I also have a 69 JD 450 loader. On the 450 there are grease fittings on both sides of machine to tension tracks. I’ve done it many times. On this 350 B there’s only a grease fitting on ...

JD 450 shifting gears question

Is it ok for the health of the transmission to shift from low to high gear or high to low on the move on a John Deere 450 ? Or should you come to a complete stop first ?

Re: Any of you ever remove an idler ?

I think I understand what your saying. You’re saying to remove the grease bleadsr bolt. Pull the idler completely back toward the rear to release the grease pressure. Allowing enough slack in the track that the idler can be pushed forward to replace the seal without removing the track ? Is that righ...

Any of you ever remove an idler ?

I realize the largest challenge for an average person to change the idler seal is to remove the track. Once that is done how difficult is it to remove the idler to replace the seal ? I know there’s 4 bolts that need removed on the yoke Beside those yoke bolts, what physically needs done in order to ...

Re: Anyone familiar with throttle cable troubles ?

I agree, thank you Bruce. It was at my door step 2 days after I ordered it. I had to order a different length too. My cable is 5 ft rather than 4. That rear bracket behind the engine is a real pain to remove. Should be a lot easier to put back on though.

Re: Anyone familiar with throttle cable troubles ?

Received new cable from Bunker Hill Engines out of Ohio. Very good company to deal with. Fantastic quality. $116 shipping and tax included. Compared to $240 plus tax from John Deere. Strangest thing, old cable suddenly wouldn’t budge. No stiffness or prior signs to it seizing up. Had less than 1 inc...

Re: Anyone familiar with throttle cable troubles ?

This cable doesn’t appear to be very old It never showed any prior signs of sticking the slightest. It won’t budge now, it’s definitely not broken. I put a lot of pressure on the the throttle ever and it won’t budge. Maybe, after I get it off. I’ll stick it in a bucket of light motor oil. Hoping to ...

Re: Anyone familiar with throttle cable troubles ?

Freaking hilarious. Just called John Deere to price cable. 240 plus tax.

Re: Anyone familiar with throttle cable troubles ?

I believe the C series should be nearly identical to mine ? I took everything off this evening with exception of the bracket that holds the cable behind the engine. I removed fuel filters. I see now why those have to come off. That bracket behind the engine is going to be a nightmare. That’s all I h...
