I've heard that injector pump rebuilds are pricy. I have an obvious seal leak on the back of the pump (to much loss to ignore). Is it unadviseable to just replace a seal? The unit is from 1975 so naturally all the seals are older. What would most of you do, and where would you suggest sending it to?...

I've got a 450 B and am looking for non working or barely working one for brush sweeps and exhaust, etc. I'm in SW Missouri. Thanks I'll have to research what other models fit my B.

The temp ranges on the coolant and transmission don't appear to be different on my 450 b. I'm installing number gauges vs range gauges. Does anyone know if the sensors are different or the same in calibration? the part numbers are the same in the part catalog so i'm assuming they have the same range...

On the steering for a 450b, when a steering stick is pulled back it disengages the power with a through-out. Does the brake band only acuate when the lever is pulled completely back? One side is only hit and miss on actuating the brake and I'm working hard on understanding the adjustment process? Is...

In the manuel for my 450b it says to adjust the brake band yoke with the pedal against the stop.
Which stop? forward engaged or back at rest? thanks for the help.

JD450 b : I'm cleaning the tranny filter basket. It's full of green slime, sludge, and particulate. Can I use diesel fuel to rinse out the tranny with out damaging anything internally? I've got some high end shifting issues and this seems to be a good place to start. I also don't want to contaminate...

My parts manual for a 450 b does not have the hydrolic pump schematic or parts numbers. The tech manual has a repair drawing but no parts numbers. Where may I find the complete schematic and parts numbers for the hyd. pump on the front of the engine?

Hey, I found the data sheet ( I think), Its at \\\ Deere.com, non-current crawler dozer\\\. The problem was they didn't list a 450b, only the 450, then 450c.
So, I'm guessing these unit years are close to being the same , right???

What trannies are the same as the 450b?
I'm also looking for videos on their adjustment. They seem a little scarce on the 4650b.
