The spark mark on the flywheel was to show with a timing light while the engine was running. A volt-ohm meter will show if the points are making good contact. Should show zero resistance immediately when closed.

Set your points when they are at maximum open, i.e. when they are at the "point" of the distributor cam lobe.

So I should t have to worry about the dc or spark marks on the flywheel correct?

Forgot to mention put new plugs in as well, yea plug wires are correct location.
