450 C 1975 losing drive power when climbing
Hello all I have a 1975 450 C serial number 450 CJ 271126T, recently when I am climbing a hill either in reverse or forwards it gets to a certain point (if a steepish hill) where it won’t drive any more, almost like a clutch slip feel? Could it be a clutch issue? I’m trying to find any info on the c...

Re: 450 C Not Starting but runs on ether when sprayed
Thanks to all who gave advice on this, Jim was correct, it was a dodgy wire/connection on the solenoid/switch on the pump. I cleaned it up, and it fired up straight away!

Re: 450 C Not Starting but runs on ether when sprayed
Thanks Jim, Sorry, thinking about it when i undid the injector (the thick fuel pipe that goes to the injectors) i think i must have been turning the engine by putting the key/starter on rather than pulling the primer lever. I get a feeling it could be an electrical problem and i will look at the sol...

450C 1975 skid plate/belly pan removal
Hello, I have a 1975 450C crawler and I need to replace the starter, apparently it is easier if you remove the front skid plate/belly pan, I have removed the 4 bolts down each side, the ones on the front were missing, but I realised there seems to be some more bolts at the back, round headed bolts w...

Re: JD450C 1975 New Starter Motor Needed
Thanks Bruce and Jim, starter ordered. Thanks again very much appreciated. I think i may have a wiring issue with the starter so i am going to look at re-doing that as well so i will see if i can locate a wiring diagram from that link.

JD450 C In New Zealand clutch/drive issue
Hello All, this is my first post and my first ever JD Dozer. I recently acquired a 1975 JD 450 C, it runs and drives good but does not turn right well, I’ve heard all about the belts and clutches, and been on YouTube and watched hours of videos on how to adjust the brake band/clutch. The issue is my...
