Without knowing the condition better, don't expect more than a couple hundred, I would guess. But hey - let's get the thing cranking at least. I am in my mid 80's and have given up doing the maintenance myself. But I did get the stuck steering clutch problem fixed on my 1952 MC - by a top notch craw...

"Bit the dust" means I've worked on this thing for a long time, new valves, push rods, carb rebuild, new starter etc. Starts great now. But steering levers need adjusting. Darn - clutch throw-out bolt seems to be sheared off. No further fixes unless I want to pull the track off and dig into the fina...

My old MC just bit the dust, and I'm looking to replace it if i can get anything for it. A 440 crawler would be a big upgrade for me, if . . .

MC Starter Weak, Replace or Rebuild?

Pulled the starter on my MC and tried to fire it up on the bench. No response with 6 volt battery. And nothing with 6 volt charger. I did note tiny sparks upon contact. With 12 volt starter it did spin up, although kinda started out slowly. I had expected it to jump up to full speed pronto, but no. ...

Lots of good info. But no response yet to the question, ". . . Also how do you get grease in to the rollers, button grease fitting?" I'm thinking there must be a special attachment for my grease gun.
