Maybe there were a series of mis stamped serial plates. That would lead to such a story forming.

What is your entire serial number and how your crawler equipped (engine, transmission type of blade). Yes, I have full catalogs for the machine and as you said, there isn't a designation for the "C". The SN begins with 22 which puts it around a 1975. Since this is when the transition from B to C oc...
