Many of the reversers will have a howl to them, just like backing up a manual transmission car. Make sure you have the reverser full to the recommended level with oil. Fish scale is fine, or just guess. If you go to far, you will not be able to adjust it at all. Been there, done that on the seal. L...

Not 100% sure, but keep in mind that you are taking a rockshaft housing that was designed for 9GPM at 1000 PSI and you are stuffing 15 or more GPM at 1500PSI into it. i also installed a 40 420 hyd 3point off a wheel tractor.it was not a big project fab wise but the hydraulic plumbing is giving me a problem ,what i did was ran a 3/8 hyd hose to the top of the unit and tee,d it in to the 3/4 inch line that controls the 831 loader bucket. now the 3point has pressure...

There should be no bearing or seal on the front shaft. Some people will just used the old reverser input shaft instead of the standard prop shaft. It will work, but it only has about half of the spline engagement that the regular shaft does. Couplers are available new, less than $100 if I remember ...

where to find the reverser.

my 440ic is all the way apart now ,because of a coupling .the problem seems to be that i use reverse to much and it seems to take forever to get back there,before i go and put the crawler togather again i would like to put a reverser in it ,does anyone have one that is available for my crawler?

as i was out taking apart my 440 i found that the coupling is stripped .the shaft survived, hoping that it was the clutch it wasnt ,the clutch had been replaced recently .i pulled out the reverser housing and there is nothing in there, it appears that the last person who owned this crawler didnt put...
