It is used to set the correct amount of pre-load on the steering clutch pack. When you remove the pressure plate, metal plates, and linings, and install new one's, they are at a different dimension than the older one's. After installing the pressure plate, you have to have the correct amount of tens...

350B Coolant Temp Gauge

I just noticed recently that when I turn the key "on" that my coolant temp gauge goes to the hotter side of the gauge reading, and when in operation it seems to stay there. The gauge is one of the older styles. I checked all the connections and they seem ok. I'm just not sure if it is a gauge proble...

I would say first, if you don't already, get yourself a service manual, and go through the steering clutch/brake adjustments for the final drive, and make sure they are set up correctly. Sounds to me you have one of your steering clutches going south. My 350B did this also, and it turned out that th...

John,
Go to this link and type in 450 in the Model search box. Click on the Crawler Tractor Section. It will bring up any part you are looking for.

You can go to John Deere . com, and purchase a download version of the manual. That's what I did and you don't have to wait. Now you can purchase either a paper copy or DVD, but I went with the download because I had it in just a few minutes. Also you will want to get yourself a JD 7 clutch gauge , ...

Sounds like you are on your way at being a crawler mechanic. I feel your pain man. My right side went out within the first month of getting mine too. Have had both sides off since then. Get you a good manual, and ask plenty of questions on here, and I believe you'll have no problem. If your mechanic...

Sounds like your right side clutch assy is going south. I had the same thing happen to me on my 350, and I replaced the fibers, steels, and new pressure plate, and it fixed the problem. Good Luck.

You can also go to John Deere .com and purchase manual's. I purchased a download that I just saved on my computer. A good service manual is a must. I feel your pain about the final's going out. I just purchased my 350B at the end of April, and the guy said it was ready to work. Well, ready to work o...
